Oxetol 300 Use

i have got seizures and sponteneous intracerebral haemorrhage left frontal lobe ..since feb10 with seizures every month however dose has increased to 300 mg but then seizures frequency has increased ## My mother also got seizures about after 20days. doctor suggested to intake oxetol 300 mg thrice a day. Will it help to reduce or stop the episodes of seizure. All tests are just normal as MRI, MRA, EEG and all. So please suggest us what should we do for her relief and her age is 53years.

my mother is suffering from neurocysticercosis since 3 years but we came to know about it 3 months ago.The doctor has taken MRI and has pescribed oxetol to her . so please tell the side effects and it's use. as she has to use it for one year. my mother is complainig about constipation ,headache and weight gain so please tall how to control it using this medicine or should we drop it. I am taking oxetol 450 mg medicine 2 times a day. And because of this I am also suffering from headache regularly. My wife is 29 yrs old. She got a fit attack last night. We did CT scan and there findings were " Findings are suggestive of inflammatory granuloma, neurocystercosis with calcified dot". Hi there, My dad is 58yrs old, he's an epilepsy patient for last 30+ years..Right from inital stage till date he has been using sodium valproate 400mg twice a day. Recently a few weeks back he's affected with epilepsy (fits) after nearly two years gap. As a common practice we have consulted the doctor and has make him to undergo all the test (ECG/EPG) etc tests. As a result the doctor whom we consulted has advised to stop using sodium valproate 400mg and replace it with Oxetol 300mg and assured this should take care of the issue. My son is 13 years old. He got mild fits in 2010, 2012 and 2016 (January). He is taking oxetol 150 in the morning and oxetol 300 mg at night. He gets headaches very often and the doctor gave him tormap 25 at night. He has been taking tormap 25 for 4 days now, but still headache continues. Any input please? ## Both of these medications may cause headaches as side effects, as reported by the U.S. FDA. He may also experience nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and weight gain. What else have you tried to relieve the headaches? Are these the only medications he takes?

Recently it was fiagnosed that I have partial complex seizures hence the neurologist prescribed Oxetol (to be gradually increased from 150 mg twice a day to 450 mg twice a day). I was NOT TOLD ABOUT ANY CONTRAINDICATED medicines by the Doctor. A week later, I had fever and another GP (who I had told that I am on Oxetol), gave me the anitibiotic Oflox. Only when I suffered excruciating headaches and could not lift my head for an entire day, did I find out through our family physician that Oxcarbazepine and Fluoroqinalones are contraindicated. Then, by the time I was settling into the 300mg dosage (at least four weeks after having started the medication) I had the most terrible itchy and angry rash all over my body which refuses to go. i an a patient of veinous anomaly and had a focal seizure in december 2009 till then i have been given oxetol 300mg and 100mg eptoin in morng and 200 mg eptoin and 450 mg of oxetol in evening. is it toxic?? ## Oxetol contains the active ingredient Oxcarbazepine. You are on normal dosages of it, in the U.S. it is used in amounts as high as 600mgs per dosage. Eptoin contains the active ingredient Phenytoin. It is used in dosages as high as 300mgs per dose, so you're not taking a crazy amount of it, either. I was taking Oxetol 300mg twice a day for 7 years. Then Oxetol 450mg twice a day for the last 3 years. Within this timeframe I've noticed a steady loss of memory & concentration, as well as restlessness & weakness. Should I taper off & stop treatment? ## I think deciding on whether or not you're going to continue using this medication, really comes down to determining if the benefits of taking the medication outweigh the side effects you've been experiencing. From my perspective it sounds like the side effects have become too bothersome. Depending on the length of time you've been taking Oxetol (Oxcarbazepine), it may be best to taper, since this drug can cause withdrawal symptoms. I hope this helps!

Dear Sir, I am ananth . I am under anti depresent since 1 992 like Clofranil . Subsequently in 2004 one day i taken over dose Tini i.e Tinidozole for my GITI which by next morning just numbness in my face . for which i was presicrbed tegretol and later to oxetol 300 . since 2005 i am under oxetol 300 per day in night . i am sufferring regularly from various side effects like GITI , Upperespiratory Track infection , improper Bowl movement fatigue , dizzizness etc.. i am otherwise had never any epilepsy attck till date. Doctor advised me to stop it on tappering basis . But some how i am unable to do so as i feel restless when i stop it next day. and uncomforatble in stomach . Offcourse i know its due to addiction. But i am scared please advise further.
