Can you overdose on benzo's? Can't you take a high dose of xanax and be really impaired up but never od? It gets dangerous when you mix alcohol and benzo's. NEVER MIX ALCOHOL AND BENZOS. ## I'm sorry, but that is not correct. Benzodiazepines, such as Alprazolam can cause depression of the central nervous system and taking that many could result in heart and lung failure, which could be fatal, if someone didn't receive supportive medical treatment in time. I'm not sure who told you it wasn't possible, but it is and it has happened.
