Muscle relaxant taken twice daily want to come off medication safely without complications or pain ## Then you will need to speak to your doctor. Anytime you have been on a medication for a prolonged period, your body becomes dependent on it and you will experience some withdrawal effects if you stop taking it abruptly. It was issued on June of 2011 to me for pain I don't see an expiration date. My pain is back. Is it safe to use it? ## HI, Louis! How are you? This medication isn't one of those that gets dangerous, once it's expired, but it does lose effectiveness. The expiration date would be one year from when it was dispensed to you, or when the original factory sealed container was opened. Learn more Orphenadrine details here. Thus, over 2 years later, they really aren't going to help much and you should see that they are disposed of properly. Have you contacted your doctor? It's also not good to try and self-diagnose, if something different is causing your pain this time, this may not be the appropriate medication to treat it. ## Is it ok to take an expired prescription? I accidently took 3 tablets 6 hours ago. Will this be out of my system soon? I feel dizzy and have a slight rash. Is it necessary at this point to call the doctor. ## Being that you posted this 2 days ago, I'm assuming that the effects are worn off by now? What is the normal dosage for this medication? I think as long as you continually stick to your normal dosage requirements from here on out you should be fine if you are feeling better from 2 days ago. If you still feel worried or are still feeling side effects from the other day, I would highly suggest giving your doctor a call to let him or her know what happened and ask for their opinion on whether or not you should continue using this medication.

I have a chronic back pain, and have many Rx from 2005. Could I still use them? How old is too old? ## As with anything, whether it be drugs, food or drink, you should not take them if they are out of date. The date is on the packet for your safety, and you could experience more adverse effects from taking out of date medication. Also most medications can begin to loose their effectiveness at any time passed the expiration date (it would be difficult to pinpoint exactly when it starts degrading), so it would be best in your case to just request a new prescription given the length of time it has been out of date. However, if you'd really like to be certain about the pills degradation, you would have to take them to a lab and have them analyzed for quality. I don't know how to go ...

Are there any brands / medications that combine Orphenadrine and Codeine as active ingredients? On a drug detail page I read that Orphenadrine is also available mixed with aspirin, paracetamol, ibuprofen, caffeine, and/or codeine in many places. ## Many places does not always include the U.S., the FDA can be quite picky about what they approve for safe use here. In this case, Orphenadrine is only available by itself. This medication is classified as muscle relaxant that is used to treat the pain associated with muscle strains, sprains, and spasms. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and headache.
