Hi. I'm an Oralcon user and just wanna understand, I've taken five red pills but nothing is happening. I just want to know if I might be pregnant or what? I had period pains when I took the first one. ## Hi Laura, When it comes to any form of hormonal contraceptive, it's important to understand that they can all cause irregular or missed periods as a common side effect. This is just the nature of what happens when your hormones fluctuate. It seems that this side effect concerns many users here on the site, as I see it posted fairly often - but in reality there's nothing to be overly concerned about when "nothing happens". Most labels for these types of medications suggest that if the tablets have been taken as directed, this will almost certainly not mean that th...

Hi im on Oralcon for about 8 months now, im very bad with taking pills and remember to take them. so I skipped quite a few times. my last mp started on 19 July until 24 July and then I had a spotting on the 15th of July, since then nothing...today is the 15th Aug and still nothing... What are the chances for me being pregnant? I was also on an antibiotic from the 25th of July until the 30th of July, Please help ## Hi, Clover! Have you done a pregnancy test? If you've missed pills, been active, and were on an antibiotic, then your chances of getting pregnant were definitely increased. You should consult your doctor to have a test done and to discuss your future birth control options. If you have trouble remembering to take pills regularly, there are others that you can use to avoid s...

But this month my period came fast and furios while still on the white, I still have 3 days to go before I reach the red. And I take my pil religioisly. Pls help. Do I need a diffrent pill? ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Yes, you may need to try a different contraceptive. Overtime, your natural hormone levels will change and that coupled with the hormones in these pills might just be the wrong combination for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hey I have been using oralcon for five days now nd I'm new to it I didn't start with da pill on my period my boyfriend nd I slept together last night but the condom burst ....could I get pregnant because I woke up sick ... ## Hello, Nunkils! How are you doing? You wouldn't be showing pregnancy symptoms that fast. Yes, there is a risk, if you had only taken them for 5 days, but I think you most likely just woke up sick, because you were worried about it. When are you due for your period? You need to wait until then and have yourself tested, if you go a week or more late.

This is my 1st time using the pill, it was given to me by my doc regulate my period. I'm on my 5th white pill now and I'm experiencing the worst side effects ever. I get abdominal cramps all the time and really bad headaches. Sometimes I wake up trembling and I have noticed that I have gained a lot of weight even though my eating habits are still the same. Is this normal for first time users of oralcon? And is there any alternative brand I can use that would not make me feel this way? ## Hello, Lola! Sorry that you are so miserable. No, you shouldn't be experiencing problems that extreme, especially when you haven't been taking it very long. Please contact your doctor, there are other options that you can try, instead. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I have been using petogen for 3 months and I was having non-stop periods and the doctor gave me oralcon. During the week that I was taking oralcon, I was taking the pill at different times and sometimes skipped taking it. I have been intimate with my partner without the use of protection. Could I fall pregnant? ## If you weren't using any protection, at all, then yes, there is a risk of pregnancy. Have you had a test done to check for pregnancy? Why did you stop taking the Oralcon? Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting, mood changes, and weight changes.

Hi I'm nthabiseng and I have just started using oralcon...it was given to me by a nurse/sister at the clinic, she told me to take it same day given to me after I told her I took my periods two weeks back and as I read the intruction it states you must take them on the first day of your periods.....my question is that (will it work preventing me from being pregnant or not).....I'm a bit CONFUSED because I did as intructed at the clinic!!! ## If you start taking them on the first or second day of your period, then you will be immediately protected from pregnancy. However, if you start them at any other time during your cycle, they must be taken for a full 7 days, without missing any tablets, in order for them to reach their efficacy level in your body and protect you from pregnancy...

I've been using oralcon for a year now, recently I have been having itchy and painful rash on my face a week befor my period, and my period is not as normal as should be. It is thick and and very dark and only lasts for three day. ## Hello, Gugu! How are you? What does the rash look like? Do you get every month? Period changes can happen when you're taking hormonal contraceptives, some women don't have periods, at all, while on them. Have you had this checked out by your doctor? When you say thick, do you mean there are clots in it? Hold old are you? Are you on any other medications? ## Hello I'm using oralcon almost 2 weeks now ..I feel headaches everyday is it okay if I will not finish the whole pads ? Hi...I've been using the 2month injection for a few months now, and I was given the oralcon because of my iregular periods... Is it safe to use both the injection and the pill? ## Hello, Sthandwa! How are you doing? There's a good chance that the shot is causing your irregular periods and adding the hormonal contraceptive on top of it might just make things even worse. What type of doctor have you consulted?

Hi. I have been using yaz for about 7 months but switched to oralcon. I am currently at my second red pill of the month but I haven't started my cycle yet. I do have extreme cramps, breast tenderness and tiredness but there is no signs of my cycle. I have taken it religiously, and have used extra protection during intimacy with my husband, however we are not ready for children and now we are worried that there might be a chance of pregnancy. ## Irregular cycles can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives, according to NIH studies, some women even stop having periods entirely, while taking them. Other side effects may include nausea, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. However, the only way to really be sure is by checking for pregnancy. Are you on any other medication...

Hi , I've just started using Oralcon from using Yasmin. Is there a big difference between the two ? Because I am worried it might have a different effect as it is cheaper ? ## I switched from Yasmin to oralcon. Is it safe to just change or will it effect me hormonally? I've taken a brand new cycle now for my new month and would also like to know if I must consume all of the white tablets then break or consume the red tablets as well? ## No, it works the same and you should not have a problem making a clean switch from one to the other. Shell, the red tablets do not have any active ingredients, they are just reminder pills to try to keep women in the habit for taking a pill every day, so you can skip them, if you wish, it would be just like having a break week where you don't...

Hi I'm 23 y/o married. Been taking oralcon for almost a month but I had a bad feeling over it, I feel pain in my lower abdomin, is these really normal? ## Hello, Aries! How are you? Yes, that can be a side effect of this oral contraceptive, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting and PMS-like symptoms. These side effects usually last for the first couple of months, then go away. However, if it gets too severe or doesn't go away, you should consult your doctor. For a few month I have been on the 3months injection then changed to the 2month injection then changed to oralcon because I was bleeding through out the whole year while on the injection so I have been on the pill for about a year or more now I'm off it completey and want to fall pregnant how long will it take for me to fall pregnant?help ## Hello, Tashy! How are you? It could take about three months or so, before you actually ovulate and can possibly get pregnant. The hormonal contraceptives that you were using work by suppressing ovulation and it will take a bit for your body to balance things back out naturally. Have you consulted your doctor?

Hello I would like to find out if Oralcon causes acne? I've been on it for about 1 and 1/2 half years and my face looks like a fruitcake, keep in mind I am now 28 years old and have never suffered from acne. Thank You ## Hello, Farah! How are you? Yes, it may cause acne in some women that take it. You may just need to try a different to prevent that from occurring. There are other options available with different levels of hormones in them that may not cause you the same issue. Is there anything else I can help with?
