what does an opana 60 mg look like? ## There is not a 60mg Opana available on the U.S. market. Opana is a very potent narcotic that contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is only available in a maximum of 10mgs. Was it perhaps a different medication that you were thinking of? There are tablets of both Morphine and Oxycodone that are available in 60mg dosages. ## Opana is not available in a 60mg. pill. You would need to be prescribed 1-40mg., and 1-20mg., in order to be taking 60mg. of Opana. ## Is there a red round 60 mg opana? ...

Do they make a 60mg opana now or do they give you two 30s at a time? Someone please bye very helpful!! ## Opana is only available in a maximum of 40mgs. And, except in extreme cases such as someone having terminal cancer pain, no a doctor would not be able to prescribe that much. Learn more Opana details here. Under the new regulations, anyone else requiring this medication for pain can only receive the maximum available dosage, the maximum number of recommended times per day…. and even if a doctor did try to write for 2 of the 30mg tablets, no pharmacy would fill it. As I said, the only exceptions to the new regulations are those in severe pain from terminal illness. I start on Monday So any info is appreciated thank you ## SWEET: Supposedly, the Opana actually stays around for 12 hours, whereas you probably know, the Oxy does not. BUT: Opana is very expensive, and depending on where you live, it is very hard to find a pharmacy that carries it. I live in a large metropolitan area, and I found 1 pharmacy that had it, but my copay was 330.00, so I declined. Also, check with your insurance company about what drugs they will pay for in that class ... ...

Arymo ER and Opana

I was on Opana 40 2 x daily plus 10 mg of oxymorphone hcl every 6 hrs. Since the recent changes, I have been switched to Arymo 60 2x daily and still take the 10 mg oxymorphone every 6 hrs. The Arymo does not seem to be working well. Is there something else that I can ask for that will help with the pain? I too am awake most of the night tossing and turning due to pain. The 10 of the oxymorphone does not seem to have the same effect that it used to when I first started taking it. I've been on these meds for approx. 5 years steady. Does the body just start to become immune to some meds? ## Arymo ER contains a time released form of Morphine, which is an opiate analgesic. Opana IR Shortage
11 Replies RSS
I have been making call after call trying to find my Opana IR 10mg meds. ENDO Pharm. was no help. They used to at least try to find the meds but as of one hour ago, they would no longer provide that assistance. I take six 10mg tabs a day and I am terrified of the pain intensity I am going to have to face. Not only that, but I'm hearing that going from 60mg a day to zero, could land me in the ER. If I can find the Extended release version in stock somewhere, would I just be able to get more of those until this shortage is resolved? Has anyone been allowed to do that? I'm getting fed a lot of "don't know". Any ideas?UWKCT ## I feel your plight acl828, I usually take opana ir for breakthrough pain and have had a hell of a time finding it even in Chicago. Has anyone been on the generic Opana ER that is being made by Global/Impax Pharmaceuticals long enough to give an honest opinion as to how much more effective they are then Opana? My pharmacist just ordered the oxymorphone ER's for me today. I haven't gotten any relief from Opana. I take 60mg of the ER's twice a day with 3, 10mg. oxymorphone pills for breakthrough pain. I'm getting more relief from the 10mg generics then I am with the 60mg ER's. Will I be able to just take the 40mg ER's without the added 20mg ER's? Opana 10 mg equivalentcy
1 Reply RSS
I was prescribed 10 mg Opana when my dr changed my 60 mg morphine to reduce the mg quantity due to the Narcotics and Controlled Substance bs. the pharmacist said it was equivalent as far as the dosage and ability to control the pain. I took a whole one due to not being able to break it and feel there is no comparison. Is this something that gets better the more you take it? ## It actually takes 20mgs of Opana to equal each 60mgs of Morphine. So, that may be why you're not getting as much relief. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you informed your doctor that this dose isn't helping your pain? ...

Anyone know of any kind of discount prices for this medication, or a way to get this type any cheaper than what the Walmart pharmacy wants to charge me ($262.00 for 60 of them). I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your help. ## Hey Iceman, try this site's rx discount card - you can print or email it to yourself and bring it with you to the pharmacy. It might also help if you fill your rx with the generic medication (Oxymorphone) instead of the brand name. I think it could be around $80 or maybe even less if you use the discount card and get the generic. Hope this helps and let me know how it goes for you! ...

I am on both of these meds do to severe medical issues. I take 40 Mg of opana 4 x daily and 30 Mg of oxycodone 5 x daily as well as Nortriptyline 150 Mg twice daily and neurontin 600 Mg 3 x daily. How Much Morphine Is Opana 10 Mg equal to?

My Dr prescribed opana er 10 mg for pain. I was prescribed morphine sulfate er 60 mg and at one time was prescribed as much as 130 mg before i had surgery(gastric bypass which took a lot of pressure off of my back) and allowed me to lower my dosage. But since I've changed to Opana Er its just not enough for the pain. I don't sleep and if I do doze of I wake up from the pain. I'm desperate for help and think I need to be put back on morphine sulfate. My Gastric Dr instructed me to chew, crush or break my medications but with extended release you can't do that. I was on 100 mg of Kadian twice a day for 7 years and got switched to 20 mg of Opana three times of day. Also, I was on 15 mg of Morphine 4 times a day and was switched to 4 mg of dialudid 4 times a day. I want to know if these dosages are equal to my old medicine dosages. ## I don't believe these are equivalent dosages, more over because Morphine is the active ingredient in Kadian. In which case you had taken 100mg twice a day (200mg/day) and later dropped down to 15mg four times a day (60mg/day). That's a pretty significant difference in and of itself, not taking into consideration the Opana or Dilaudid fixtures. As far as Opana (Oxymorphone) and Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) goes, these are two different drugs with different levels of potency/pain relief, so cross-comparing the tw... ...

Methadone withdrawal symptoms when switching from Methadone to Opana ER
43 Replies RSS
I am a 55 year old man, and I have been going to a Pain Management facility for lower back pain and now even chronic Osteoarthritic shoulder pain, and have been taking 60mg of Methadone every day (10mg tablets x 2 x 3 times a day -- morning, noon & night) for the past three years. Although I've been doing well on that regimen, perhaps out of more of a psychological concern over the known "qt" (heart) effects of the drug (rather than any "real" ones), I decided to ask my doctor if I could try Opana ER (20mg every 12 hours), which I had taken once before, for a short time, at another Pain Management facility, with great success.
