Nucynta Not Available

I’ve been using Nucynta ER for several years and doing well with it. My doctor’s office informed me it might become unavailable because of the hurricanes in Puerto Rico, which is where it is manufactured. When I went to refill at the end of January, sure enough, Not Available. How long before it will be available again, and how can I get on a list to be notified of availability? ## In order to find out about current product availability, my thoughts are to get in touch with the manufacturer directly and/or the local pharmacy that generally fills your prescriptions. Do you happen to know who the manufacturer of your previously filled Rx of Nucynta ER is? Most manufacturers have a website with their contact information easily accessible, so this is what I would recommend first...

I am disabled I have Part D insurance to help with my prescriptions the discount card is no good since I have the insurance so I have to pay close to $300 a month for my pills can you please help me in some way ## Hello, George! How are you? There is a program available that may help you, if you qualify, it's from the Patient Advocate Foundation and you can call them for more information, 866-512-3861. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can you please post back and let me know if you have any luck? Thanks!

I was having issue finding my Dilaudid Rx. I ran out and the pain was unbearable. (I used my Rx for Tramadol 50mg x 4-6 daily to alleviate any withdrawals. It doesn't do much for the pain.) My doc switched me to a new time released med Nucynta ER or Tapentadol. It works great. It comes in 50mg - 250mg. Equivalent for my Dilaudid 4mg x 4 was Nucynta ER 150 mg, 1 q 12 hr. but we had to work up to that dosage through titration. It says not to cut the pill and I have not tried. If you have true pain and a legal doc, try this. It is readily available at CVS, usually the 24 hour stores. I don't wake up in knots and crying in pain. I am very relieved not to have to drive to 15 different drug stores and be looked upon as a junkie/criminal to get my meds. This works for now and I'm n...

I'm taking Dilaudid 4mg four times a day, and was prescribed Nucynta 50mg twice a day for breakthrough pain since Darvon was taken off the market. I'm not getting any relief from the Nucynta. Could you recommend anything else for the breakthrough pain that isn't an NSAID, which I cannot take due to liver disease? I sure do miss Darvon. ## There are quite a few options on the market to treat pain that do not contain NSAIDs. Have you tried Tramadol? It is also a centrally acting analgesic, like the Nucynta, and is also non-narcotic, it is available by itself, without any NSAIDS: There are also many other narcotics on the market, without NSAIDs that could be used to treat breakthrough pain, such as an instant release Oxycodone or Morphine: Has your doctor suggested anything els...

I have found a blue rectangle shape tablet in my room mate's doorway with the inscription OMJ 100 on it. Any ideas as to what this is? ## What you have described is a Nucynta extended release 100 mg. The active ingredient is Tapentadol. It is a centrally acting analgesic which works on both an opioid receptor and as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. The manufacturer is Janssen Pharmaceuticals. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Nucynta Details. Hope this helps! have been on hydrocodone for 8 years now due to regulations doctor will no longer prescribe narcotic drugs need something to function any thing close to this drug. Had neck surgery 6 years ago and chronic pain since ## Hello, Jerry! How are you? There really isn't anything else available that will be as effective as a narcotic for pain relief. However, some people have had good luck with the anticonvulsants that help with nerve pain, such as Lyrica or Neurontin. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, mood swings, weight changes, headache and dry mouth. Its something you could ask your doctor about trying. Have you ever considered seeing a pain management specialist? ## Ask about nucynta. It's actually a class II drug, but without the ad...
