Nortriptyline Morning

Hi everyone, I'm interested in amitriptyline and/or nortriptyline. I have been taking amitriptyline 100mg at night. As usual my dose was increased over time. The only side effect I had difficulty with is that grogginess in the morning which I don't like. I'm most interested in no grogginess. I was told that it shall pass as my body adjusts. I found a different drug called nortriptyline accidentally while looking for insurance. They consider amitriptyline to be a tier 4 as to nortriptyline a tier 2, that's a huge difference in price for me, so I looked it up and they seem to be basically the same medicine but I noticed that in the comments area the grogginess was not so much a problem as to the other medicine...so if anyone can help me out with feedback that would be grea...

I just started 25mg nortriptyline for migraine prevention. I was previously on amitriptyline for them and it worked so well, but I was a zombie, couldn't wake up in the morning and had gained 10 pounds. I was always hungry and never felt full. I am hoping that the noritriptyline will have less side effects (at least that's what my doctor tells me). Day 2 of not sleeping. I take the pill before bed and that must be the problem. Does anyone take it in the morning? I'm a little worried that taking it in the morning will still keep me up that night. Also, is 25mg a little high for a starting dosage? ## Hello, JaneCat! How are you? As to your starting dosage, you're not actually starting, you're just switching from one to the other, so you'd not start it at the same d...

Hi, I was on amitriptyline 20 mg before sleep time and venlafaxine 150 mg in the morning. Because of side effects my doctor prescribed me nortriptyline 25 mg in the evening and 25 mg in the morning. I was sleeping better when I was on amitriptyline. Would it be a good idea to take amitriptyline before sleep time and nortriptyline early in the morning. Are there anybody who has sleep issues on nortriptyline? Thanks in advance. ## Hello, Peter! How are you? How long have you been on the Nortriptyline, now? Most of these medications can cause sleep disruptions, but it usually improves after about 4 to 6 weeks, once your bodies adjust to the drug. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes.

Hi, I have been on Nortriptyline for a just over a year at 25 mg in the morning and 25 mg at night to help with my fibromyalgia/chronic pain condition, as some of the symptoms of my fibro were starting to return, e.g. extreme light sensitivity rendering me unable to open my eyes. The doctor has increased my dose to 25 mg in the morning and 50 mg at night, that was three days ago. Since then I have started itching all over. The itching moves around my body and is intense. All i am doing is scratching, I am also quite irritable. Plus i've had quite bad head pain on the left side and it feels like it's inside the center of my head rather than on the surface; it gets worse with straining of any kind or bending over. I can feel the pain throbbing with my pulse. This is starting to se...
