Norco Time Release

Oxycodone in the instant relief form is much better than extended time release. Time release comes on at the wrong times and when you really need pain relief they aren't working. The doctor often prescribes norco for breakthrough pain. Why take 2 pain pills when you can just take the roxy IR and not be so hard on your liver. I've been on pain meds for 10 years. Since I started the 60mg op I have been feeling lots of discomfort in my chest, like pressure against my heart like a heart attack, but what I think is going on is it's backing up my bowels causing all this discomfort I never felt when I was just on norco. I've read here where op causes constipation, I'm wondering if this could be the reason for all the discomfort I'm in? I've noticed a change in my bowel movements, like smaller sized stools, not nearly as much is coming out like it used to do. Should I consider using a stool softener or a laxative to see if my discomfort subsides or should I head to the ER and say I'm having a heart attack only to find out I've got side effects happening related to this new drug I'm on? What is the pain killing strength of a norco M 355 ## Hi Debbie, Just to clarify a couple of things - M 355 is actually reported to be a 100mg Diclofenac sodium extended-release tablet, made by Mylan Pharmaceuticals. It has no apparent relation to Norco other than the fact that it can also be used for pain relief; just not nearly as strong in my opinion. In terms of "pain killing strength", drug monographs describe Diclofenac as being used to relieve mild to moderate pain, whereas Norco is described as being used to relieve moderate to severe pain. In the detroit area there is a incredible shortage of norco. Pharmacy's say they have no info. Called FDA. Release date dec 15th add 3-4 days for delivery from distributors. Called Watson pharmaceutical about back order of norco. I was told by the manufacturer (Watson ) the release date for the distributors nov 7th. Due to new classification of norco which is now a control 2 all pack aging and distribution had to change. They assured me they were sorry for any inconvenience I have been in severe pain as I know many have suffered through this mistake. I have severe osteoporosis an current end plate fracture and 2 10/325 norco helped most of time but I was taking to much so they switched to diladid which didn't last more than two hours then switched to MS Contin 15 twice a day with Norco why through the MS Contin didn't do enough an was still taking to,much norco so they upped the MS Contin to 30mg twice day with only 4 norco a day for break through. Some day it work some days it doesn't it depends if I stay in bed or am up doing stuff. My question is I had gastric bypass an was always told not to take extended release an now they give it to me idk understand why. I have had my C-6 and 7 fused years ago and had pain releif from that. My symptom prior to rupture was dull pain in left scapula. After rupture, immense pain in scapula, left arm and numb index finger and thumb in left hand. After surgery, pain in back was gone and still had tingling and occasionally tip of left index finger went numb. Within this last year, my pain in scapula has returned and MRI shows moderate bulge in C-5 now. Does the new Hyslinga work on severe pain better than Norco or Oxycodone? ## @MB, One might be able to compare the effects of Hysingla ER (Hydrocodone Bitartrate Extended-release) with Norco more easily since they share one of the same active ingredients. However, Oxycodone's analgesic effects are reportedly more potent than Hydrocodone and therefore I don't think Hysingla would be a better option than Oxycodone, personally. Then again, everyone tends to react/respond differently to these meds based on tolerance, level of pain, inert ingredients, metabolism, body chemistry, etc... I have a spinal stimulator that was put in place on 8/19/16. It's the worst thing ever! I'm on 30mg extended release morphine TID and 15mg ir morphine for break through, but nothing is working!!! I was on norco 10-325 TID for years but it began not to work like I built up a tolerance. Any suggestions? My doctor is conservative but I have no life in constant pain. The Dr. is switching me to the morphine 15mg and oxycodone 5mg for breakthrough pain. Is this stronger than the Norco 10/325? ## Is the Morphine regular release, or time released? My husband suffers from sciatica and has suffered from it for at least 10 years. He has had 2 major invasive back surgeries to release pressure off of his sciatic nerve. The second surgery got him off of the floor and enabled him to function but only with the help of Norco and Tylenol and Ibuprofen. For some reason there is NO Norco available in Houston or the surrounding suburbs at this time. Hi, I've been taking norco 10/325 for a couple of years now for fibromyalgia and chronic back pain, tendonitus and siatica. I'm prescribed 90/month. But my pain is not being managed. I have high tolerance I guess., but im afraid to ask my dr. if he will prescribe 120 a month because 3 a day is just not cutting it at all. but i dont want him to get mad at me. I have been on 30 mg morphine sulphate and norco for 2 years. I have cut down to 1 30 mg morphine sulphate and 1 norco twice a day. I have been doing this for 3 days. Do I put patch on and continue to take my norco till the fentanyl patch gets in to my system at full strength? I take two nor ps 10-325 every 6 hrs and they wear off at 4-5 hrs so pain comes on strong. I've read that it takes 12 to 24 hours for fentanyl to reach its peak so till it kicks it will I be safe to take reg dose of norco? Do not want to go to sleep and not wake up! for the last 7 years I have been on Norco 10's got to the point I was taking 12 to 15 a day, it got to the point that they stopped working for me so my dr. put me on morphine er 15mg 3x a day with 30mg instant release 4x a day im new to morphine but have a very high tolerance to opiots, im just wondering if I made a good switch.
