Dangerous Combination: Neurontin and Opiates

One of the contraindications while taking Neurontin is using opiates such as Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and Oyxcodone (Percocet). The opiates potentiate the effect of Neurotin by 14%. With Morphine, it increases the effect of Neurotin by 44%. My husband was on Neurontin at 900 mg a day (taken in three doses). At that time, he was not taking much of his pain killer, Oxycodone (Percocet), maybe one 5mg dose a night. My husband was originally took Neurotin for shingles nerve pain. His doctor decided to increase his dose of Neurontin to 1800 mg per day (three equal doses). Before that time, my husband increased his Oxycodone to two 5mg tablets before bedtime and another 5mg tablet about four hours later. Upon the increase in Neurontin, my husband started to experience some adverse effects. These... ...

white pill s g 1 78 - are these gabapentin / neurontin
1 Reply RSS
These pills are white, oblong and are scored like gabapentin are. On one side they have a S G and on the other is a 1 78. ## Hello, Gabby! How are you? Yes, this tablet is manufactured by ScieGen Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 800mgs of Gabapentin. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, dry mouth, and weight gain. However, there are many oval, white tablets that are scored, so please don't assume that they all contain Gabapentin. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Here in delhi difficult to find enzoheal tablets. but enzomac can be found easily.. ## Yes, they both contain Trypsin, Bromelain and Rutoside and are commonly used to help with digestion. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I'm taking neurontin for a pinched nerve in my foot, which occurred during surgery. I'm looking for something that will ease the pain without the weight gain & sleepiness. I just can't settle for the fact that I may have to be on this for the rest of my life. ## Elaine, how long have you been taking it? Some of the regular side effects, such as the drowsiness should hit their peak at anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks and then they should start to taper off, as your body adjusts to the medication. And not everyone gains weight on the medication, but... ...

Oxycodone 10 hcl versus Oxycontin 10 mg
3 Replies RSS
I have been prescribed and taking oxycodone 10 hcl, 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. Today saw my spine surgeon (nurse practitioner) to get a refill prescription and what I was given was oxycontin 10 mg extended release, the prescription says to take 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. Isn't this too much from what I have been taking? My pain level has been maintained on the oxycodone 10 hcl every 6 hours along with tramadol 50 mg every 6 hours and neurontin 600 mg 4 times a day. ## No, it's still the same dosage of the relevant medication, because Oxycontin also contains Oxycodone. The different, however, is that what you were taking was the regular release formulation and the Oxycontin is the time released formulation. It's the time interval that could be problematic, because the Oxycont... ...

nt 16 ## This is not Fentanyl. It is 600mg Gabapentin, or name brand Neurontin. It is used for various types of seizure disorders, convulsions and nerve pain. Side effects include nausea, headache, drowsiness, among others. ## As I recall, this isn't even available in regular pill form, they have the lozenges, and the patches, and that is all that is available anymore that I can find listed. ## That's exactly right, except for the IV doses available in the hospital, nothing else exists. ## That is what I thought, I even did a search and double checked. As I recall they had trouble getting the dosage set properly and stabilized, so they were unable to make it into tablets. They had a problem with Demerol for years, before they finally had a breakthrough and discovered other ways ... ...

FITTS disease

Hi I'm syeed bin ahmed I'm suffering from ''FITTS'' I was taking the tablets from 5yrs and the tablets are Dicorate ER250, Frisium 10mg and epilian. And what is the solution for this disease. ## Hello, Based on my research, Dicorate ER 250 contains Divalproex sodium; which is an Anti Convulsant medication. The anticonvulsants (also commonly known as antiepileptic drugs) are a diverse group of pharmaceuticals used in the treatment of epileptic seizures. Anticonvulsants are also increasingly being used in the treatment of bipolar disorder, since many seem to act as mood stabilizers, and for the treatment of neuropathic pain. The goal of an anticonvulsant is to suppress the rapid and excessive firing of neurons that start a seizure. Failing this, an effective antico... ...
