doctors who will prescribe pain medication in rhode island

I am looking for an MD or Pain clinic that will prescribe pain medication in Rhode Island. I have 4 herniated discs, nerve damage in my leg, severe migraines. My former Md said that he could not longer prescribe due to the regulations, I dont want to have to move, that would be crazy to have to go through that, but I also do not want to continue living night and day in Agony, with not one Md that has any compassion, it seems all they care about is to look out for themselves, I only take 2 pain medications that I believe are both in class 1, but when you talk to a doctor about pain, they tell you to take tylenol. I am tired of theses doctors just caring about themselves, if you have a patient like myself, that has the MRI's and Catscans to show what my pain level is, they should be a... ...

My brother has told me that people are opening up capsules and insufflating the contents. As I'm worried that my brother may be involved in this practice could you give me signs to look out for and how dangerous this can be? ## Hello, Jaxie! How are you? These medications aren't actual analgesics, though since they can be used to treat some types of nerve pain, it seems many people assume they are and that they work like analgesics. These are actually anticonvulsants that have been shown to help with some nerve pain, as I have already stated, as well as some mood disorders. In order to achieve their proper levels of therapeutic efficacy in your body, they must be taken regularly for about 4 to 5 weeks. Now, as to insufflating the contents, they might experience a brief period of... ...

Citalopram oily greasy skin
Post a Reply
I was on Citalopram for over a year and I came off it in November 2016. I feel so much better not being on it and that I am not zombie like anymore and not to mention the weight gain. Now it is March and I have the worst oily skin ever. It's literally all over my face and it is making my hair so greasy and this isn't a good look. I have tried special soap bars and greasy hair shampoo but it just simple keeps coming back. It's been happening for a few months now and it's really getting on my nerves. Can anyone advise me on this and if anyone else has had a similar experience? I am guessing it is to do with hormones setting back down but how long will it go on for? I'm a 30 year old male. Thanks in advance. ...

In this case, you really need to consult your doctor, you may have a stomach ulcer. If you are stressed, that could be a contributing factor, but only your doctor is going to be able to help you get to the root of the problem and discover any possible solutions. Are there any other questions or comments? ...

That's really the only way you are going to be able to get a proper diagnosis and treatment options. Anything given from just the limited information in your post would just be guess work. What have you already tried? ## Strongly suggest you get your blood/liver tested. Hope all is well. ## Tarry stools are indicative of blood in them. You could have internal bleeding which would also cause anemia and tiredness. You need to see a doctor a.s.a.p. ...

My primary won't prescribe any narcotics, so I'm looking for a new primary. I am going to Bay State pain mng, but they won't do anything at all until I jump through all their hoops.I have been waiting for 4 months now to get facet injections, and IF i ever get one, I have to wait 3 months in between each one which has been awful. I have 2 ruptured discs, and a third completely gone. It's sitting on my left sciatic nerve. I have been waiting and waiting and waiting, and tried to be proactive, but i'm getting nowhere. I can't take this anymore. I actually NEED some medication, and the pill chasers are screwing people like me over and the doctors are turning a blind eye to what they are doing to people like us. 6 Replies RSS
I have had severe chronic nerve pain in my lower back from a botch-up surgery for 7 yrs. I was taking roxicodone 30mg with percocet 5/325 for breakthur til 2 days ago, my doc prescribed fentynl patch 50mg along with 15mg roxicodone for breakthru. having serious pain, is it safe for me to double the 15? I feel like I would be literally double-dosing but the pain is intolerable. I hope someone out there can offer me some good advice or a solution. ## Hi Juliette, Sorry to hear about your challenges with pain. Based on your description, it looks like the doc has substituted the percocet as well as 15mgs worth of roxicodone for the fentanyl patch. And this is just my theory but it seems to me that he's trying to taper you down off the roxicodone, perhaps as a way to keep your tolerance ... ...

Is it safe to take Diclofenac after you've taking Aleve?
1 Reply RSS
My mother has a bad sciatic nerve which causes her pain quite frequently. This morning, she was looking for her Diclofenac and couldn't find it, so she took the last two Aleve and laid down. I found them for her, but now we're unsure if she can take one so soon after taking Aleve. It's been about 20 minutes since she took them. Is it alright for her to take her Diclofenac? ## No, these are both non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, so that would essentially be doubling up and she should not do so, without her doctor's approval. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

5 mg butrans patch

Hi there, I've been looking online for information on how to get off the butrans patch (5mg) I have been on now for about 3 years. I was placed on this due to a spinal infection and the lingering affects due to nerves thereof - a general diagnosis has been possible lyme/west nile - whatever it is/was - I am still (4 yrs. later numb from the knees down - numbness is intermittent and moves about from knees down to feet). Still on a walker as whatever this was took out my left leg in particular however my right leg is fine. It's been a trip - but I'll beat it - darn if I won't. All said, though and back to topic - has anyone any suggestions on how to "get off" this butran's patch - the lowest dose ? Can I just take the darn thing off and ride it out or is this d... ...

I was on 300mg/daily for 2 1/2 years for nerve pain. Bad s--- for sure. See if you can get some L-Tryptophan and some 5-HPT to ease the discontinuation. I and a friend are both in our later 60's. We did some looking for DBX13. We both are having some complications from Diabetes II. I'm sorry about the problems you've had. The reason the side effects aren't listed anywhere is because this a specialty compounding product. It isn't something that's standardly available at any pharmacy and the ingredients can vary from doctor to doctor, depending on what they feel will best help their patients. Specifically, the ingredients in this one are Ketoprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory; Lidocaine, which is a... ...

You're really not going to find a doctor to just prescribe them and not worry about it. That's just not possible, anymore. They are held responsible for their prescribing practices, now. The best thing to do would be to set up an appointment with a PCP in your new area and then have them refer you to someone for pain management. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, ... ...
