i am on zormorph 60mg,and oramorph,my pain limit is still very poor, i was wondering if dyimorph would help better .my pain is due to 2 back ops in 2000 and now i cant walk well at all ## Are you aware that you are on a very low dose of opiates? I take 2000mgs of Zomorph - 5 X 200mgs in morn and eve. Diamorphine is a lot shorter acting, and is very expensive. Explain you're situation to Dr and ask for your dose of at least the Zomorph to be doubled (1 in morn and 1 before bed). Oramorph comes in different strengths and as your on low dose of Zormorph I'd expect your Oramorph to also be a low strength. Oramorph in low strengths is not very good for you're type of pain. Please don't go on Diamorphine it's so addictive and as time goes on, you'll need more and more ...

different strengths of morphine ## Morphine is a narcotic analgesic. The strength varies, depending on what formulation you are asking about. For instance the extended release tablets are available in strengths of 15mg, 30mg, 60mg, 100mg and 200mg. The regular release tablets come in 10mg, 15mg and 30mg. What specific type are you asking about? ## I am currently taking 360 mg. of morphine sulfate CR per day, (2-60 mg. tablets, 3x a day) and 45 mg. of Oxycodone IMM for breakthrough pain (1-15.mg tablet, 3x a day) My new Pain doctor switched me to 1-60 mg. tablet of Kadian CR and up to 90 mg. of oxycodone IMM (1-2 tablets of oxycodone IMM 15 mg. 3 x a day) for breathrough pain.Isn't Kadian CR the same as morphine sulfate CR? Whats the diffrence between the big purple 30mgs vs. The little ones ## Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about them, without knowing the markings on the tablets in question. That is what would enable me to look them up and check this information for you. Learn more Morphine details here. Can you please post back with more details? Thanks! ## Hi Baby girl, there are several different name's for kadien er,i was taking them 30 mg 2 times a day and the Dr switched it to Embeda Er,which is exactly the same medication, due to my insurance it no longer pays for the kadien er,but so you know if you get switched to the Embeda its the same drug it just doesn't have the same markings as the Kadien Er,but same color and a smaller size.

I've been on morphing 15 mg for 9 years at 4 times a day . witch would equal to 60 MG's. A day and now they decided to put me on 30 milligrams time release twice a day . is this still the same thing or different and how ## Hello, Blackbetty! How are you? The time released can give some people better pain control, since it is slowly released over the 12 hour dosing period. That is the only difference. And no, you can't cut or break them, because that could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once. They must be swallowed whole. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ##...

I have taken morphine ER 30mg for many years. I just received a different brand and the pill is much larger and does not work as well as the smaller pill I am use to. What is in the pills besides the morphine to make such a difference in size? ## Hello, CJ! How are you? The fillers that are used can be different, as well as what is used to make them time released. I can't be more specific than that, without knowing the markings on the tablets in question. Can you please post back with these additional details? Then I can check for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## When a medication is created it is patented by a Pharmaceutical co. Everything ...

How To Help Someone Who Took 20mgs Of Morphine ## If you feel this person may have taken more than they needed or overdosed, I would strongly recommend getting some activated charcoal at your local health food store. According to Dr. Al Sears, MD. he wrote an article that spoke of: "Most poisons in your body are attracted to charcoal; even prescription drugs. Since your body reacts to most prescription drugs as toxins (that's why there are so many side effects to meds), activated charcoal taken orally will often adsorb prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs, too. . The activated charcoal will fight the poisoning from a medication overdose. That's why every emergency room carries it. It is also used in many different detox programs to help absorb the chronic accu...

i no there is a difference in mgs. for all meds in different forms . i would like to know how many mgs. of morphine in a shot form does it take to equal the same mgs. in pill form ? for example if you are given a 10mg. shot of morphine how many mgs. does it take to make the same in pill form ? 10mgs. of shot form is equal to ? mgs. of pill form . thank you for the answers . janet ## Hi Janet, I think that the only difference in what you described is how fast the drug will act in your system. So 10 mg will be the same dose to your body regardless of it being in a shot versus a pill. The difference is that you would feel the effects of the shot more quickly than the pill. Also, some pills are designed to be time-release, which results in the effect lasting longer. There are also many othe...

I take 145mg of methadone daily .my question is this.i just took 60mg of morphine will i feel it i do no other drugs. this is the first time ive used anything but methadone in 2 years ## Unfortunately, in any medical situation, a patient has to be their own best advocate. Doctors often prescribe medications according to their experience with how well something has worked for other patients. There really isn't a direct answer to your question, as no one can tell you how you would react to Morphine. Since medications can affect everyone differently, some people get great results from taking it, but there are others that it doesn't work for. I do know based on research that Methadone is considered to be 3-4 times stronger than oral Morphine (oxymorphone). And given the high dose of...

is there a difference between abg 15 and ms 15 morphine tablets? ## Hello, Erika! How are you? No, they have just been manufactured by different companies. This is very common with generics, it creates market competition to help keep prices lower. The one with the ABG marking is manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals and the one with the MS M 15 on it is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, but both contain 15mgs of Morphine in an extended release formulation. The FDA classifies this as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I suspect a local hospital is supplying fake morphine. I took a bad reaction to nightly medication. Recieing supposedly the same drug "Sevredol" via my GP on discharge, the effect is completely different. How do I have this investigated, as I am encountering high levels of obstructive/defensive activity, without raising the issue specifically. The relevant authorities seem reluctant to recieve any form of complaint on the NHS.

Morphine 30 sulfate er made by Mylan does not help relieve pain does anyone else have that problem ## I too am finding morphine sulphate ER manufactured by Mylan is not as effective. Almost like going through early withdrawal symptoms, for example, morphine usually paralyzes intestinal movement and causes constipation. I am having cramping and looser stools. I question the correct amount contained in the tablets. ## Sorry to hear about your recent experiences. Medications can and often do affect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results, but there are others that it inevitably just doesn't work for no matter how much they take. However in the case of this particular drug, it seems the majority of people posting on here don't like Mylan's version of it. Addi...

A morphine pump has been removed and now the hydro morphine has replaced it. Not many doctors prescribe Hydro Morphine and we have moved to the state of Georgia from California which is where the prescription originated. What can be prescribed in its place? Or are there any ways to find out who is in the network to prescribe hydro morphine. ## Hi Bob, Did you mean to say "Hydromorphone" (Dilaudid)? There is no such drug as Hydro Morphine, to my knowledge. In any case, there are many different alternative prescription and non-prescription options for pain management/relief. Although, if you're looking for a pain management doctor to prescribe Dilaudid, I think the links below may be helpful in so far locating PM Doctors within your general area: {link removed because site no ...

My dad is a cancer patient and has been prescribed this medicine and cannot find it at any pharmacies in South Miami, Florida. We have been to them all . Can you help him find a pharmacy or give us any numbers to call? Thank you! ## I am so sorry that your dad is having trouble finding his medication, that's awful. However, there is a shortage right now, due to several reasons, so it may take awhile to find it. Has he contacted his doctor? They may be able to prescribe an alternative medication he could take in the meantime, or a different dosage.

HOW LONG DOES IT START WORKING, THE 30mg MORPHINE? ## The regular release or time released tablets will take about 20 to 30 minutes to start working. The instant release formulations work much faster. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Are there any comments or questions? ## How do I tell if my 30mg morphine is extended release or immediate release if I don't have the bottle any more? I have 2 different kinds left but don't know which ones which!? One has a M on one side and Ms30 on the other. The other one has m on one side and abg or something on the other, both are purple.

As I read I just don't know if I should come off 60 mg in the am and 30 in PM. Back surgery conic pain for years now and the MS works. But, is it why I am depressed? I approached my DR about coming off, not much encouragement. Anyway I am 2 days at 60 mg. What's worse pain or the medication. ## Hello, Ralph! How are you doing? Yes, narcotics are actually depressants, so it could be causing or contributing to your depression. However, rather than stopping medication entirely, it might be better for you to just try a different one to see if something else doesn't cause as much depression. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you tried any oth...

Has anyone had experience using this drug to slow or treat chronic diarrhea? I have short bowel syndrome and had 2 resections leaving me with the diarrhea. We are now trying different treatments. ## It does cause constipation, in some cases very severely, as a side effect, so it has been used for this and has worked for some people. The only way to see if it will work for you, however, is to actually try it. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Verwon is quite correct in asserting that morphine sulphate will cause a degree of constipation or, more in keeping with your problem, relief from diarrhoea. However the much weaker analgesic codeine phosphate is much more effective in that regard and even better is dihydrocodeine tartrate, possibly the most constipating opioid bar perha...

what is the difference between a 30mg blue morphin and a maroon 30mg ## Are there any markings on the tablets you are asking about? I can't provide you with any specific information just based on the colors, since they don't actually mean anything. There are, however, several possibilities. They could just be manufactured by different companies, or one may be a time released tablet and the other a regular release formulation.

For months I have been taking MSER 100mg, and the shape is oblong, color is light blue and 100 is on one side and E658 on the other side. These pills have been working great. My last refill of MSER, the pills were different. they are round, either light brown or gray, 100 on one side and either a M or a W with a square around the letter. These are not effective at all. Has my pharmacy made a mistake? Can you tell me what company manufacture's each of these pills ?and can you tell me what the different ingredients are between the two? There has to be a reason why one would work so good and one seems like a sugar pill. Thank-you very much ## The tablets with the E 658 100 marking are manufactured by Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. and the ones with the M 100 are manufactured by Mallinckrodt...
