I am N Raychaudhuri and 55 yrs old. Recently I am suffering for one month from severe knee pain all the day and cannot sleep..X ray report on knee does not show any abnormality. I was told by my pharmacist today that brand name (Novartis)-ritalin 20 mg tablets sr (sustained-release), have been discontinued. I cannot find anything on the internet to confirm this. He filled one-third of the prescription and said to contact the doctor to decide what to do. He said ritalin capsules, 20 mg la (long-acting) is still available from novartis. Information and uses of Bevidan product (one six twelve) a potency for treatment of rheumatism, neuralgia, USP 2.50 ## Based on what information I have gathered, this is a foreign over the counter product advertised for the treatment of arthritic and neuropathic pain. Each capsule is supposed to contain 300mg of Monophosphoric Ester B1 vitamin, 200mg of Pyridoxine HCl and 250 mcg of Cyanocobalamin. In 2009 the Hong Kong Department of Health warned consumers not to buy or use the product Bevidan after it was found to contain undeclared prednisolone and mefenamic acid. I have had IBS-C for over 35 YEARS having only one bowel movement every 6-7 days. Good thing I had my own bathroom in my office. When you do not have regular bms you forget the last time you went. I have to keep a calendar. My dr gave me a prescription for 72 mcg. It took a week to work and it totally emptied me out for hours. At the end it was just brown water coming out. Since then I have been going 4-5 days before having a complete emptying out with severe explosive diarrhea. I wondered if maybe I can empty the capsule out and only take part of the med a day?
