red and white capsule has Pfuer printed on the red side and PGN 75 printed on the white side ## THIS IS NOT MORPHINE NOR ANY TYPE OF NARCOTIC! This is Pregabalin 75mgs, a generic for Lyrica. This is used to help prevent Epileptic seizures and to treat certain types of nerve pain. It is NOT a narcotic nor related to one, though. ## By the way, that is what the code PGN 75 stands for Pregabalin 75mgs. Pfizer is the manufacturer. ...

My Dr prescribes 20mg oxycodone on a monthly basis for my chronic pain. I've been having to take a UA every month when I go to see him. Is this normal practice? I don't abuse the pills. He will only prescribe 75 20 b mgs per month. This is not enough to control my pain but it at least lessens it. Should I find a different dr? I've been a patient there for 5 years. Thx. ## Most doctors will require UA's, now, when a patient is on a controlled substance. They want to make sure that you're taking it, as prescribed and not selling them. They also want to make sure that you aren't taking anything that hasn't been prescribed. Additionally, there are limits on how much they can prescribe, these were put in place by the DEA last year and that also applies to all doct... ...

I have been being treated for chronic pain off and on for years. Recently i've been on the fentanyl 75 mcg every 3 days and the morphine 15 mg at 4 x daily. Well recently i was having extreme pain from my lower back buttocks and down my legs to the point i couldn't walk so my reg physician thought it was trauma from my sciatic nerve so she referred me to a doctor that is a neurologist named Dr Sawhney in Crain Towers, well before i even had a chance to go to her i had to go to the ER which they agreed with the sciatic nerve. I could not even walk into her office and she didn't even take the time to look at my diagnoses or my list of the different things i suffer from. All she did was see that i was on the pain meds and told me i was a drug addict and that all i needed was de... ...

how long does withdrawal take from morphine
2 Replies RSS
My Dr. switched me from the pain patch 75's changing it every three days. To Embeda 50 mg once a day. Now I am about to die from withdrawal effects. I don't understand because they are both opiate meds why switching from one to the other should matter. Please help !!! ## Hello, Mark! How are you feeling? Did he have you just directly switch from one to the other, with no break in between? If so, that's likely what's created the problem. Embeda contains Morphine and Naltrexone and, if you aren't already in full withdrawal, the Naltrexone can throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mout... ...

Does 30mg Of Morphine Sulfate Relieve More Pain Than 50mcg Fentanyl Patches

My pain Dr.had me on 30mg. of morphine sulfate 3 times per day & switched me to 50 mcg. Fentanyl patches at 1 every 3 days. The morphine was keeping me up at night & did'nt seem to ease the pain.Second day on the patch & it does'nt stop the pain either any suggestions will be truely appreciated..Thanx ## I don't have an exact answer to your question, since everyone responds differently to both of these medications (based on tolerance, etc). However, according to numerous articles, Fentanyl is said to be approximately 100 times more potent than Morphine, with 100 micrograms of Fentanyl approximately equivalent to 10 mg of Morphine in analgesic activity (or in regards to pain relief). I hope this information helps! ## You need to give it a little time. I am on 75 ev... ...

oxycodone mg restriction florida
1 Reply RSS
I am a chronic back pain sufferer, relocated to Florida to live with my parents bc I lost my home from being unable to work bc of on the job injury that my employer won't take responsibility for. I was on 75 mg oxycodone in sc but my doctor here in Florida says that I cannot get but 60 mg a day unless I'm a cancer patient. Is there restrictions on back pain patients? ## The DEA did put forth some new directives asking doctors to restrict opiates to no more than the equivalent of 120mgs of Morphine a day and some states took it upon themselves to lower that even further to no more than the equivalent of 100mgs of Morphine a day. The only exceptions are for those with intractable pain from a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer. At 60mgs of Oxycodone, you're currentl... ...

Information on the fentanyl 75mcg/hr
1 Reply RSS
I am currently taking the 50 mcg/hr fentanyl patch. I have symatic dysfunction of the sacrum. Have been on vicoden 10/660, those were probably the best. (4 per day). Then doctor wanted more of a pain management therapy. we tried the 30mg morphine, didnt work at all, wanted to increase to the 60mg but they are not prescribed hardly ever and no pharmacy even carries them. They have to be ordered and then if you do get them, they are extremely expensive, even with insurance. You have to go up to at least the 80mg then the price goes down considerably. the fentanyl seems to be the best working for me but i need to be bumped up in mg. Like i said, im on the 50 now. If I go to the 75, is it going to be like trying to find the 60mg morphine? Or do i need to just go up to the 100 fentanyl. I do... ...

Hi I'm Honey and I'm new here, I was taking 10mg of oxycodon my doc changed it and now taking Hydromorphone 2mg with a p on other side. This med is not working for me at all!! Also take morphine you think my doc would change it back to oxy and maybe increase mg or give it 4 times a day instead of 3 times day? I'm in so much pain. Thx in advance ## Hello, Honey! How are you? It would require 3.75mgs per dose of Hydromorphone to equal each 10mgs of the Oxycodone that you were taking, which likely explains why the 2mg dosage isn't working for you. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What will help me? ## Hello, Shy! How are you? Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so the dosages are not equivalent, which likely explains why you are in pain. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Diclofenac vs percocet
3 Replies RSS
How does diclofenac sodium enteric-coated (ec) 75mg tab compare to a percocet 5/325? Does it work the same and is it a narcotic / opiate? ## No, Diclofenac is actually classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, it is used to treat pain, fever, and swelling. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. So it also does not work the same. Has your doctor prescribed it for you? ## I need to know if Diclofenac Sodium Er 75 mg has Morphine in it? ## Hi Shaw - actually no, Diclofenac is its own drug completely different from Morphine.
