Hi im a 20 year old girl, I have been on numerous anti depresants, mood stabilizers and anti psycotics throughout the ages 14-18 to treat what seems to be claasified as bipolar, chronicly deppresed., I was prescribed cymgen 2 years ago I to it for a week and i remembered the side affects being awful, but now 2 years later i am extremely deppresant and havechronic back pain so i made the decision to take cymgen to see and experiment how it affected me. I am hoping for positive results as statistics show that the effecs of cymgen differ from individuals, some react negatively and some react positively. I took my cymgen pill today at 2pm I already feel a bit different and its only been a half hour. ## That is true of any medication, actually. Some people have great results and some don...

I am 24 years old, after severe depression/mania/psychosis from age 12-20 I tried many Antidepressants/mood stabilizers/anti psychotics and even ECT(with no effect), I finally got the right balance of 225mg of Venlafaxine in the morning(8am) and 300mg of Lamotrigine at night(8pm). I have been stable with limited mania/depression and no psychotic features for 6 years now. I weighed 97kg when I first started this dose of Venlafaxine and Lamotrigine 6 years ago, however over the last 11months I have slowly lost weight through exercise and healthy eating/portions. I have noticed as this was happening in hindsight I was/am feeling more tired, I find it very hard to wake up in the morning and just generally tired(but not in a depressed way) Also my heart rate during exercising has been pretty...

The anticonvulsants (also commonly known as antiepileptic drugs) are a diverse group of pharmaceuticals used in the treatment of epileptic seizures. Anticonvulsants are also increasingly being used in the treatment of bipolar disorder, since many seem to act as mood stabilizers, and for the treatment of neuropathic pain. The goal of an anticonvulsant is to suppress the rapid and excessive firing of neurons that start a seizure. Failing this, an effective anticonvulsant would prevent the sprea...

I have major depression, which is only one out of 4 Mental Health diagnoses I have that disabled me since 1985. The major depression is resistant to treatment. I have been on so many combinations of anti-depressant, anti-psychotic and mood stabilizers that my Psychiatrists in the past and the one I go to now, did not know what to do. About 5 years ago, as a last resort, I was put on Provigil as a way to help me get motivated and not be depresses. I now take high doses of Modafinil, and my AST blood level for my liver is 40 (should be 10-35, and my ALT is 134 (should be 6-40. My Psychiatrist, PCP, and I have agreed that in my case, where I could do nothing for myself, had countless suicide attempts, and hardly ever got out of bed, quality of life is a priority--not quantity of life. I wa...

My pdoc prescribed 5 mg of ability twice a day, but when I mentioned an antidepressant he said that would not be a good idea....now he feels I have bipolar disorder but aren't individuals with bipolar normally on an antidepressant along with mood stabilizers or antipsychotics? I'm just confused......any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks ## In my honest opinion, a good doctor won't prescribe anyone more medications than they have to. Reason being (from my perspective) is that prescription drugs in general are only made to cover up (treat) the symptoms and emotions associated with the condition. But they do not help the patient fix the underlying cause of the condition. I'm stating this based on personal experience with severe depression for over 2 years, and cover...

can i take detkote with risperidone and also topiramate together i dont think so please let me know cause i dont get zeisures and thats what topiramate is for ## Yes, Topirimate is an anticonvulsant, but it does have other medical uses, as well. Most anticonvulsants have also been shown to work as mood stabilizers. As to taking all 3, there are some warnings about possible risks associated with taking the Depakote with Topirimate, as it may cause hyperammonemia encephalopathy and mixing the others can increase your risk of depression of the central nervous system. However, this doesn't mean they can't be used together, it just means that your doctor must carefully consider the dosages and should be monitoring your for any potential problems. Where they all prescribed by the same...

I have been taking methadone tablets,15mg-3 times a day, for back pain. I also have some depression issues as well, The methadone seems to make me in a good mood as well as taking my back pain away. I do have many mood swings lately where I go from very good feeling to very bad very quickly sometimes, This usually happens when the methadone starts wearing off. I think I may need to see a psyhciatrist about this. I do the methadone for pain, but maybe I need something else for my depression, I also have suicidal thoughts sometimes too, I have heard of mood stabilizers, Do these work? If anyone could suggest a medication , It would be appreciated. Also when the methadone is wearing off, I will feel very tired and weak, Without the metadone, I really cannot function that well due to the co...

its a Psychiatric medicine. I cant find it anywhere. Id be very please if anyone can find me a replacement for this medicine. ## Neuropentin-M contains he active ingredient Gabapentin and the nutritional supplement Methylcobalamin. The Gabapentin is actually an anticonvulsant and most of these medications have also shown to have great ability to help stabilize moods. As to finding a replacement, that depends on where you are located. There are many mood stabilizers on the market. Have you tried asking your doctor for an alternative that you can use? It may even be possible to purchase them separately.

SWIM told me that Modafinil has now been approved by the FDA for Refractory Depression, also called Treatment Resistant Depression, which would then be covered by Medicare Part D. This type of depression has certain things that a person has to have gone through in order to be considered having it. They are multiple combinations of Anti-depressants, or Anti-depressants and Antipsychotics and Mood Stabilizers without any success in helping the depression, which since 1983 Psychiatrists have had me go though without success. The second is the patient has have to have gone through Electro Shock Therapy, which hasn't helped me either. The last one is having, through major surgery, a device called the Vagus Nerve Stimulator implanted somewhere between my left underarm and breast and broug...

Hi, I took Invega tablets usually 12mg and sometimes 15mg for a total of about 6 months and I was wondering how long it would take to get out of my system completely and if there was any way I could get it out faster? Maybe there's something the doctor can prescribe that would help get it out faster. I'm a bipolar schizoaffective and I just have a lot of mind racing and manic and depressed episodes but when I took this pill and it built up about a month later I nearly committed suicide. I've talked to my doctor and he's decided to take me off the pill and just keep me on mood stabilizers. If anyone knows how long it should take to get this out of my system and if there's any way to get it out faster please let me know. Thanks. ## Hello, Eric! How are you doing? I...
