I want to know the difference between novamox and monocef-o, 100. I'm having a kid of 3 years old, he suffering from fever from 1 week. I used crosin suspension for this bt after 5 to 6 hours again fever comes, also having cough, khasi, redness of eyes and cheek. Doctor suggested me to give him monocef but I'm having novamox.... ## They are both antibiotics, but they do not contain the same active ingredient. Monocef contains Cefpodoxime, and Novamox contains Amoxicillin. I had severe back pain and severe headache.Test conducted USG KUB and XRAY KUB no stones were visualised.Others all OK. Was given monocef 200 for 7 days.The back pain subsided however the headache became severe and splitting fron neck six inches down up to the back of head .BP checked was 100/60 mg.CT scan was done nothing seen pain from back of neck till head was severe. CSF was done drawing flid from Lumbo spine near the back fulid sent for Fungal smear,CSF Sugar,CFS Protien CSF ADA CSF Chloride all normal within in limits .Rapid Culture BACT and RAPID culture for AFB Put up. Results expected soon. However Doc prescribed TRYPTOMER 10mg.The pain the head has been less and no back ache.
