i have been on 25mg once a day for about 9 days i am experincing tightness of the jaw and neck i am also having headaches and sore gums has anyelse had these sid effects while on this medication? ## I have tightness in my chest and pain in the back of my neck and head, and also my teeth hurt. At about the time I was diagnosed with borderline blood pressure and put on metoprol Tar, I noticed discoloring on one, then two shoulders -- a rash -- where the skin became harder and bumpy/scaley. At the same time I developed a rash under my right breast that hasn't gone away. my dr gave me metoprolol er (time release) today. 25mg to help lower my heart rate and blood pressure. I took it and about 3 hrs later stared feeling so strange. my face got real hot and it feels like there pressure in my head. I read that the generic brand could be different than the name brand toprol xl and that it could spike blood pressure.
