what is the difference between metoprolor succ and metoprolor er? ## If it's just listed as Metoprolol succinate, without another designation such as the ER, SR, XR, or etc. then it is just a regular release formulation. The ER and other abbreviations that I mentioned designate that one as being a time released formulation to help better control high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. At about the time I was diagnosed with borderline blood pressure and put on metoprol Tar, I noticed discoloring on one, then two shoulders -- a rash -- where the skin became harder and bumpy/scaley. At the same time I developed a rash under my right breast that hasn't gone away. It's four years now and my blood pressure has risen and the rash spreading throughout my back, into my arms, and recently into the buttocks and legs. I've also been extremely stressed for the past 12 years and more so since I lost my job last year. Is this a reaction to Metoprol or my high blood pressure, or is it something related. I would like to know if this medication can cause a burning sensation on the ankles and the back of your legs. My mom is 86 and when she takes this medication she has severe burning sensation which is only alleviated when she walks. ## And it only occurs for awhile after she takes it, or is it there all the time? my dr gave me metoprolol er (time release) today. 25mg to help lower my heart rate and blood pressure. I took it and about 3 hrs later stared feeling so strange. my face got real hot and it feels like there pressure in my head. I read that the generic brand could be different than the name brand toprol xl and that it could spike blood pressure. After angoeoplsty i had bp around 120/75 for 2 mnths but dr when reduced Met Xl 25 to 12.5 my bp went up to 146/85 n heart rate frm low 50s to 85 90 now 2nd Dr gave me metxl 50 cardace (ramipril )2.5 eptus 25 after bfa st ecospurin 75 (reduced after 5 months rm 150) prax 10 after lunch Attorva 40 (increased from 20)cardac2 2.5 after dinner) my question ll this continue now BP 130/77 n heart rate between 62 to 70. My worry is this effect of reduction me to prolog and not having Eptus25 and ramiprill2.5?
