what is the difference between metoprolor succ and metoprolor er? ## If it's just listed as Metoprolol succinate, without another designation such as the ER, SR, XR, or etc. then it is just a regular release formulation. The ER and other abbreviations that I mentioned designate that one as being a time released formulation to help better control high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. I have just been prescribed Lamasil by my podiatrist. When looking online to see the detailed side effects and drug interactions of Lamisil, Metotoprol was listed as an interacting medicine. How will Metotoprol interact with my taking Lamasil? It does not say what the interaction is, but since Metotoprol is a beta blocker, I am concerned before I start taking the Lamasil. I am a patient of Hypertension with dystolic dysfunction. My dystolic B P never goes below 85. I am taking Metolar-XR50 for last five year. My systolic BP is controlled with this medicine but Dystolic B P is unchanged. Recently I started taking amlodepine 25 in addition to the Metalor XR50. Is it safe for me I am 46 Year of age.

At about the time I was diagnosed with borderline blood pressure and put on metoprol Tar, I noticed discoloring on one, then two shoulders -- a rash -- where the skin became harder and bumpy/scaley. At the same time I developed a rash under my right breast that hasn't gone away. It's four years now and my blood pressure has risen and the rash spreading throughout my back, into my arms, and recently into the buttocks and legs.
