I am a RN and I can give IM IV's easily to someone else but have difficulty giving them to myself. I recently was prescribed Methylcobalamin B12 IV's once a week for 3 months. I asked the pharmacist if I could give the IV sq instead of IM and he said that would be okay. I have researched and have not found any reliable study to the contrary. So does anyone have knowledge if this medication can be given sq and be effective? Thanks for your replies. Lineke

is folic acid methylcobalamin and dha safe to take before pragnancy? ## Hi rashmi, Based on my research, all three of those products are considered to be safe for and during one's pregnancy. Apparently, taking Folic Acid as well as Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B-12) before and during pregnancy can help prevent birth defects. Those two nutrients seem to work as a team in this regard. The correct name is Methycobalamin, but in some foreign countries, the spelling has been adulterated to Mecobalamin. However, both refer to the same form of Vitamin B12, which is often given to treat certain types of pain, because a deficiency in this vital nutrient can cause or contribute to such conditions. Naproxen and methylcobalamin can be taken together ## Yes, as long as your doctor approves, the Methylcobalamin is just a nutritional supplement.
