I am a RN and I can give IM IV's easily to someone else but have difficulty giving them to myself. I recently was prescribed Methylcobalamin B12 IV's once a week for 3 months. I asked the pharmacist if I could give the IV sq instead of IM and he said that would be okay. I have researched and have not found any reliable study to the contrary. So does anyone have knowledge if this medication can be given sq and be effective? Thanks for your replies. Lineke

is folic acid methylcobalamin and dha safe to take before pragnancy? ## Hi rashmi, Based on my research, all three of those products are considered to be safe for and during one's pregnancy. Apparently, taking Folic Acid as well as Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B-12) before and during pregnancy can help prevent birth defects. Those two nutrients seem to work as a team in this regard. DHA (fish oil) is also considered to be an essential nutrient for women, but even more so during pregnancy. Its positive effects help promote healthy cognitive function and motor development. I wish to know the difference between usages if methylcobalamin and mecobalamin as both are prescribed by different doctors for the treatment of leg muscular pains. ## There is actually no difference in these, they are both the same thing. The correct name is Methycobalamin, but in some foreign countries, the spelling has been adulterated to Mecobalamin. Have you discussed it with either doctor? It is probably not advisable to take both, without a doctor's approval, because too much B12 can also be dangerous. ## Sir, I am being prescribed either mecobalamin or methyl cobalamin by my doctors. ...
