I have been on "Phase 13" (13 take homes) for the last couple of years. I took pain meds (had surgery couple of months ago). I lost phase 13 and was moved down to six take homes. How long will I have to be on this phase at the methadone clinic before moving back up? ## It is really up to the clinic and their rules, which you generally agree to, when you sign up for treatment with them. Thus, no one else can give you a hard and fast answer. Did they know you were having surgery, and taking other pain medications? Most do not allow them, and if they weren't informed, some clinics have actually dropped patients for that. The FDA warns that Methadone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as dizziness, nausea, dry mouth, headache, and constipati...

I been going to the methadone clinic in Birmingham for 3 years,I always pay for my dose, but this one day I ask to charge and I had to damn near get on my knees and beg to charge,Three years of paying and I ask for help this one time so you think they help me,he'll no,they don't care. ## I would pay like clock work but one day i owed 7 dollars and the medicating nurse was going to refuse medicating me. But another nurse told her to go ahead and dose me. In the early days I thought methadone centers where there to help improve your life ? But when the 1980s came and Reagan cut federal money to MHMR's doctor's opened up their on private methadone clinics. That's when it became cut and dry money for methadone and if you don't like it, go back to your street drug life ...

Has anyone at all ever had a positive experience at a methadone clinic? ## The methadone clinic can be what you make of it. I went on it when I just could not afford to go through months of not being able to function to get clean again. It saved my life, I transitioned onto it without being sick at all (primarily because I still used at the very beginning tbh), but it gave me stability, helped me get away from the habits and the being sick and the fear, and helped me get back into recovery. I admit after years of prejudice against methadone as a means of recovery I was ashamed and embarrassed to be on it, but I was out of options. It turned out to be much different that I had imagined. Of course there are the people there who give clinics a bad name. But there are many who are weaning d...

Is the lake charles methodone clinic liquid or pill form and do you have to everyday when u start and for how long oh and if I switch from bureaux bridge clinic can I stay at my same dose and still get my take homes. ## I'm sorry, but there are several in that area, so I'm not sure which one you're asking about. However, if you know the name, you could look up the number to call them and ask. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am looking for any resources or information about getting any kind of help paying for the methadone clinic, I know things are different depending on where you live, I happen to live in Lake Charles Louisiana. My wife and I have both been opiate addicts for over 10 years, and have both tried suboxone treatment and we have not had very good results. Subs leave us feeling terrible and ultimately end up being just a way to avoid cetox in between dope binges. The DEA rules with Sub are set in favor of the doctors, manufacturers, etc to make money. Methadone clinics are money makers Im sure but the politics behind them seem to be more focused on real addicts, finding real productive change and leading healthier lives etc. However, as for my wife and I, we are not prescribed anything at the ...

Does anyone know of a doctor who prescribes methadone in or near Orlando. I've been on them for pain for years and it's the only thing that helps. My doctor took me off and put me on loratab that doesn't do a thing. ## Why did your doctor switch you? Most are going to be very reluctant to prescribe Methadone for pain, because it does tend to be very habit forming and addictive. Learn more Methadone details here. Learn more Lortab details here. Is it legal for a doctor to ask for a pill count, if he/she is not the prescribing Dr.? The Dr. that does perscribe the pills knows that I am going to the clinic, and the clinic Dr. has already had contact with the Dr that prescribes my meds, And, btw, my Dr found the clinic Dr very insulting and offputting. All is above board, and I'm not trying to hide anything from the clinic Dr. But there are two Drs., (very young women), at the clinic that really treat patients like criminals, rather than desparate people seeking help for their disease. Also, any documentation I bring in always seems to get "lost" before it's entered into my paper and computer file.(Of course I always have copies!). ## Hello, Mz Q! How are you? Yes, they can ask for anything of the sort that they wa...

I have severe anxiety and ptsd why cant i get perscribed xanax ## Hello, Bob! How are you? If you're in a clinic being treated with Methadone for an addiction issue, then doctors are going to be very leery of prescribing you any medication that also has to the potential to be addictive, which would include Xanax and all other benzodiazepines. What else have you tried to treat your issues? There are several antidepressants that can be used to successfully treat these conditions, which don't carry the risk of being habit forming.

Hi. I have been on the Methadone Clinic for about 3 years and have been slowly decreasing my dose and doing very well. I am down to 60mgs daily and had 6 take home doses. I started having really bad pain in my neck and shoulders so stopped going down, and after literally harrassing my doctor for 2 months and becoming very swollen in my whole chest, face and neck I have been diagnosed with lung cancer which is causing SVC Syndrome. I am in constant pain, rarely sleep and only sitting up. Methadone is not helping the pain at all. My doctor gave me 5 mg valiums. Which now takes away one of my take home doses so I now have to go 2x per week to the clinic. I am mostly bedridden atm. Has anyone had any experience with this? This is BRAND new. Supposed to have 1st appt with oncologists tomorro...

Just got on state insurance here in Wisconsin and they will pay for 3 months of medical treatment that i have already paid for including my methadone treatment. The clinic is supposed to reimburse me but I've been waiting more than double the 4 to 6 weeks they said it would take. I keep calling and asking but nothing seems to be happening, they just say that it was approved and they're waiting for the check from corporate. Has this happened to anyone else and if so how long did it take you to get your money? P.s. how much is a 3-month reimbursement?

Hello Posters, I am a 60 year old man who has gone from Methadone being free to the point of having to pay $12 per day. I can no longer afford this. CAN ANYONE TELL ME ANYWHERE IN THE United States where there is a free Methadone Clinic or a clinic that is subsidized. I don't know what to do. Please try to help me. Thank you for any post or info you can give me. ## Unfortunately, I don't know of any completely free ones. There are some state run clinics that will do an income based treatment, so some people don't pay anything, while what others pay can vary depending on their income. However, if you do work or have some type of income, that's liable to be about $12 a day for daily treatments, anyway. Learn more Methadone details here. Do you have any type of insurance? #...

I gave all my drug history and wanted to get into a methadone clinic because i've been battling opiate addiction and they said the medical staff suggested that I go to a non opiate clinic and im pissed. How do I get accepted? They wont tell me why they denied me? Please help me, I really need this. ## Hey Dandrea. The only reasons I could come up with for them to say you should try non-opiate clinics for help would be: 1.) You took a drug panel and during the U/A your levels of opiates weren't present or didn't match the dose you claimed you were using regularly. 2.) During some point in the conversation, the doctor decided your behavior, responses, and withdrawal symptoms did not warrant a script for hardcore opiates.

In going to a methadone clinic for approximately six months. I and my fiance at 130 and she at 135. They start tapering you up if you miss 4 days. In other words they start you in something like 50 and then 75 and then 100 and then 130. Is there a code word or some sort of life hack That would convince them to start your dose a little higher or on the same dose itself. One time a few months ago we did just that. On the second day we cleared. The third day when you're supposed to get a 100mg dose, we missed it. We made it in the next day. We let him know we had a methadone the day before; we split a 10 milligram Methadone so they just gave us our photos. Is there anything that can be done to ensure even give us a 50-50 chance of not having to endure the pain of starting at low dose? ...

I pick up 5 bottles a week 200mg a day. does any one know of a place that gives help for paying for methadone? please let me know if you know of anyone thank you ## You honestly take 200mgs. a day? That's enough to kill a horse! ## Aloha I am not sure where Bham unless Alabama? Yes 200 mls is a lot but at one time I was at 450 but law have changed a lot! Here over 150 a day you have to go daily.no 6 packs, in Hawaii the state aid pays for the program unless you are well off and have private Ins that may have no coverage!
