Doctors office? ## If you are referring to a just a regular test, where they doctor looks for signs of infection, checks your vitamin and electrolyte levels and etc. then no. They would have to specifically order the type of test that checks for controlled substances. However, Methadone is a very dangerous medication, so you shouldn't be taking it, without your doctor's approval and supervision. I am scheduled for knee replacement surgery and I have preop blood work orders coming up soon. I have been taking Norcos for pain and ran out. Unfortunately, I started going through withdrawals. My daughter gave me a methodone pill to help. Now I am concerned it will show up on my blood test. I don't want to appear like I am an addict, I desperately need this surgery due to the pain it is causing me. I am 63 years old and I realize I made a serious mistake as I have been reading about methadone and it is a dangerous drug if not monitored by a physician. How long should I wait before my blood test?

I go to a methadone clinic and i'm on 20 milligrams, it's not showing methadone in my system, and their denying me of my take homes. why isn't it showing up in my system? I've been clean for 4 years. Thankyou. ## they need to do a test called peak and (trouft) that one im not sure of the spelling. It test how fast you metabolize it. They will take you blood in the morning and then hours later. I had this happen to me years ago and it was solved by this test. I hope this helps you and sorry about my spelling.

When one first goes on methadone or changes Dr's, what are they looking for in the blood test? Are they testing for heroin/opiates/methadone or all of them? Isn't that what the urine test is for? Just curious. Can Methadone possibly show up in urine or blood test as having traces cocaine in your system? ## Not ordanorarly, unless, reaching here, the one that handeled the urine spec. from the Dr's office , contaminated the sampll! Almost immposible,could happen,not likly. ## It should show up as a narcotic, which is what these types of tests usually indicate. ## Always be honest with employers or potential ones. I am taking 80mg of Methadone daily for pain control. For the past two months it is not showing up in my urine or blood when it always had in the past. I am frightened because now I question what the pharmacy has been giving me. I am not a 'drug seeker'. Have Rx's for fentanyl 12.5mcg & 10/325 hydrocodone. I am 63 yrs. of age, prescribed 29+ pills daily. I picked up my 28 day Rx's for the above meds, and had my first drug test in my life. How could I test positive for methadone and oxycodone (I don't even know what they look like!)? So I'm in a rehab and on methadone. There is a female here "jen" who WAS on methadone a few years ago...so one day after going to the clinic on her way home she gets into a car accident and the other cars driver dies, it's not the victims fault either, it was jens....Jen is saying it was the clinics fault, that they double dosed her. Apparently the computers were down blah blah blah. I really don't buy it that she was double dosed. If they manually dose u, they have another nurse right next to them verifying the dose.... My question: Is there really a way for drs to test her blood to see she had double the amount of methadone in her??..she's adamant she was double dosed and takes no ownership in her accident..

That is why ALL tests muct be CONFIRMED by a more expensive and completely accurate method, i.e., GC/MS or LC/MS/MS. The instant cups, drug screen cards, and dip stick tests are NOT accurate all the time. Many things can cause FALSE positive results. CONFIRMATION MUST be done. That is the only LEGAL and ABSOLUTELY GOLD STANDARD.

I've been very I'll this last week started a new b/p medication and was too strong for me. My b/p had bottomed out too low. So after only 2 doses I was told to go off them because kidney function was bad from it. I wasn't doing well all week and went to hospital. Will Methadone show up on a drug screening if your already on opiate pain meds? ## If you have tried methadone as a pain management but it did't really help you how long does it stay in your system as for a job screening test.
