My husband has been on metanx for 4-5yrs,it has helped with neuropathy in feet, has any one experienced severe pain and swelling in hands as a possible side effect of too much B-6,long term use of mentanx ? ## Hi Karen, Does your husband work on the computer frequently? This is a common cause for pain and swelling in the hands, so I thought I'd ask. Interestingly enough though, I just checked the side effects of Metanx and common side effects include: Drowsiness; feeling of swelling of the entire body; mild diarrhea; numbness or tingling. That said, it could in-fact be that Metanx is causing those complications. Has he sought out any treatment options or decreased his use of the medication?

I was taken matanx an it became to expensive so my doc prescribed me vitacirc b an that's only a few dollars different, so I'm in a search for something new since vitacirc b is not available anymore. I have the ingredient which are L- methylfolte calcium ( asMetafolina) 3 mg Pyridoxal 5-phosphate 35mg Methyl cobalamin 2mg If anyone can help please send me info ## Hello, Joyce! How are you? Many of these ones with the higher amounts of B vitamins in them require a doctor's prescription, so you can't just grab them off the shelf. Have you tried asking your pharmacist? They should know what else is available. I'll also do some research and post back, when I have information for you.

I have had peripheral neuropathy for almost 20 years. I read about Matanx, and would like to know the experiences of anyone who has tried it. THANKS! ## I took Metanx (2 pills a day) for a little over a month for neuropathy in my feet. It wasn't doing any good so my doctor took me off of it. After I started taking the Metanx, my neuropathy got a lot worse and pain started in one of my feet. I don't know if Metanx caused my feet to get worse, but in some posts on a similar website, some people said they thought the this medicine caused their neuropathy to become worse, too. I hope someone will have an answer for this. ## I am using the generic METANX ( NEURPATH-B) as March ,2011. this purple tablet is working Awesome for me I just came from Sam Pharmacy where I was told they no l...

I recently went & had a EMG & EEG. My Dr. said I had some nerve damage in my legs? My legs jump & twitch on their own? My Dr. said this matanx is a vitamin? Any feedback would be appreciated. ## Metanx contains the active ingredients: L-methylfolate (Metafolin): 2.8 mg Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate: 25 mg Methylcobalamin: 2 mg These B-Vitamins are often given to try to help treat or prevent nerve damage, however, the only way they will help is if that damage was caused by a deficiency in these nutrients. If it was due to an injury, then they will probably not do much. Read more: Are there any comments or questions?
