I have a bottle of doxycycline that expired this past March. Is this still ok to use? ## Hello, Sara! How are you? Once expired, antibiotics tend to lose effectiveness, which increases the risk of it not working adequately and causing you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Thus, it would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription, if you have an infection. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

My mom is 94. She was put on bisoprolol in march. Recently she has begun to experience frequent urination going most of the day. It has increased within the past week especially. Anyone else have this problem? ## That is normal, frequent urination is listed by the FDA as being a side effect of most blood pressure and cardiac medications. You may also experience dizziness, headache and hypotension. How much fluid does she take in each day? I have been on Xarelto since March of 2014 for bi lateral PEs. After a month or so, I had terrible joint pain for about 1.5 months, and then it seemed to have subsided. For the past 3 months or so, I get dizzy, nauseaus and my quadriceps seem to be achy. I have been tested for all types of auto immune diseases and all are negative. I just feel pretty cruddy everyday. I am a 44 year old male and have a blood clotting disorder and likely to be on anti coagulants for my lifetime. My wife has dry gangrene on her right leg and she is also a kidney failure and on dialaysis for the past 8 years. ahe also has her heart bypass 3 years ago. In March 11 she has her left limb amputated due to wet gangrene. She has thromobosis on her right leg and we were advised to give her Nattokinese. I have always had normal cholesterol but a year ago was diagnosed with a 40 percent blockage of carotid artery. I started taking atorvastatin 20 mg and this past March my new doc raised it to 40 mg. A month ago I started getting joint pain all over. My internist ran blood tests and I was negative for Lyme and RA. I have been prescribed and been taking Dilaudid 8MG for the past two years, ever since I switched from Oxycodone because of the trouble I had filling my prescriptions. I have been on this medication since March and have lost about 20 pounds. However, in the last month I have not only lost nothing but am gaining slightly and I no longer feel the effects of not wanting to eat. My child got amoxicillin in the middle of February. I've been on medroxy for 3 years but stopped in oct 2013. I got a new doctor who put me back on march 2014, I started at 60mg a day because I bleed and don't come off my period. I got down to 40mg the week before last. Last week I started the 20mg. I had intercourse for the first time in a year on 4/5. Everything was fine. I had intercourse on 4/12. On 4/14 I started bleeding and have not stopped. My bleeding is increasing. My doctor told me to up it to 40mg again. In the past was only on 5mg at the most and I have never had this problem. I have used tedral for the past 30 yrs, with no side effects or discomfort. My father too used it for nearly 50 yrs. It provides great relief and I can be fully active, lead a normal life. I am a chronic pain patient and have been on 30 mg of oxyfast (liquid oxycodone) every 3 hours for the past two years. I had gastric bypass several years back and have had every complication you can probably think of. I have had several surgeries since and in and out of the hospital for failure to thrive, muscle atrophy, etc. I also have severe Arthritis in both of my knees, hands, and spine.
