I am so upset about the Lyrica of 900 mg that I was on for six weeks. It has destroyed my life. I nearly killed myself, my husband and possibly people on the road because I became a missile behind the wheel of a car. I stop taking it immediately and following that I had the feeling of shards of glass in my feet which pain management did not explain nor address! I suffered from the second week of February and have become bed-bound since. It has gone from shards of glass to plantar fasciitis and now they are telling me that I have and trapped nerves in my feet. I cannot walk I am waiting on taking a test to specify exactly what nerve is entrapped. Now noticing I am having similar pain in my hands, I am choosing alternative medicine next week to have acupuncture because here in the state o... ...

I have just got prescribed to lyrica from my doctor for going through withdrawals off of xanax. Is this a good idea? ## Hello, T man! How are you? Lyrica is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. It would seen your doctor prescribed it to try to help alleviate some of the typical issues that can occur, when stopping a benzodiazepine, including the possible risk of seizures that doing so can cause. Mood swings and anxiety are also possibilities. Is it helping? ...

One hell of situation; need it for pain, yet dizzziness, weaknes, swelling of ankles & feet, coordination, worst of all is weight gain. Tried twice to gradually cut down drug intake to no avail because of pain. Taking 100 MG 3 times a day. Must stand up a minute or 2, after sitting a while, before able to walk do to dizziness. ...

white capsule ## Please see Lyrica for more information about this drug. From there you can start a new discussion if you would like. Hope this helps! Jean ## Got a script for Lyrica Wednesday at drs . I am deathly afraid to take this 75mg 1 tablet at bedtime have read all the side effects from tachycardia to weight gain to loss of teeth . Any suggestions ? Any drug less harmful ? ## My neurologist put me on 75, but it was a divided dose: 50 at night and 25 in the morning. I dropped the 25 in the morning b/c I was fine w/o it. 50 mg. keeps the pain from my trigeminal neuralgia away. You might ask for your doc to give you 25s instead of 75s, and then you can figure out your own dose. I've been on it for 2 1/2 years and haven't had any bad side effects. I had horrible sides effects with Lyrica. Anxiety Attacks, Panic Attacks, Rapid Pulse, Suicidal thoughts, Pressure Headaches, Thought I was finally going crazy. Stopped taking 1 month ago, beginning to feel like my old self. Saw 3 doctors during this time and no one suspected the Lyrica ## Very odd, as these are prominently warned about in all Lyrica literature. ## I looked on Pzifer's wed site for side effects and the one's I experienced were not listed. Nor were there any warnings to this effect. That is why I kept taking it. Then I began to read websites and peoples actual experience and found common links. I only last night read this website and found the good and bad replies ## One thing that you need to know is that the side effects listed in the common monograph, like the... ...

I have Sjogrens syndrome/polymositis/diabetic neuropathy and carpal tunnel as well as a shoulder injury. You might well imagine that I have been through every available prescription drug for chronic pain. I have recently slowly gotten off opiates and am taking lyrica and cymbalta. The diabetic neuropathy pain has almost completely disappeared. The muscle and joint pain is much better. I do havwever have somnolence and a sort of spaced out feeling. I am hoping that this is a transitional side affect. Does anyone know who has been on it for a while? ## I saw the ads on tv and it sounded like something I need but the side effects wow..i am taking opiates for pain and the not taking them is do I get over the withdrawls not just that part but the pain seems worse than b 4 I have a... ...

I have some really bad sciatic pain from my left knee down to and including my ankle. Last night as I was tossing and turning in bed my leg moved and I heard/felt a popping noise followed by extreme pain not like the sciatica. It felt like my shin bone had broken but it is not painful to touch so must not be broken. Should I take percocet or Lyrica for this new pain? I have the percocet left over from the knee scope on left knee which did not have sciatic pain prior to the scope. The knee meniscus is now bone on bone. I will have to wait another 2/3 weeks for an appointment with a neurosurgeon to see about taking care of the sciatica with a back surgery to take care of disc which has degenerated and is causing the pain in left leg. Please advise! ## Hello, Fairhope! How are you? I'm... ...

I ask because yesterday I went on a sail boat and to not get sea sick I took a meclinzine and another three hours later at about five pm my feet and half way up my lower legs were so swollen it was like pitted edema when I pushed it, it stayed indented and it started this swollen until about 1am. And I was just concerned if it was this is if it's the lyrica since it could swell my feet a little but nothing ever close to as bad as yesterday. Please let me know if you know anything. thank you. ## Hello, Sabbs! How are you? I'm very sorry about what happened. You should have this checked out by your doctor, such severe edema can be dangerous, because it may lead to congestive heart failure. However, as to the medications, no I didn't find any problems listed between taking them... ...

Awful side effects from Lyric good pain reliever though
Post a Reply
I started taking Lyrica for chronic nerve pain that causes a pick axe stabbing in my ear and pain in my jaw. Initially, I did gain weight (12 pounds to be exact) but have been losing it with diet and exercise. I am just 6 pounds from my orignal weight. What distresses me is that over the past few days, my stomah looks as if I swallowed a bowling ball. I had three hernia repairs and on the third, the surgeon put in a mesh. It has its own problems, but my stomach has even worse bloating than it did before the hernia surgery. I have never experienced my stomach as bad as it is right now. I am never constipated, because I eat a lot of fibre. From past experiences with constipation, I had a fair bit of bloating, but this is ridiculous. I have a long history of eating disorders and this may push ...

I've been on LYRICA for almost a month, it was kind of a last resort for me. I have had chronic back/nerve pain (unknown cause) for 20 months now. Neurosurgeon and Orthopedic both say surgery is not an option. They recommended a spinal cord stumulator but im weary of it. LYRICA has given me energy and I sleep better. I cook and clean and laundry gets done...that hasn't happened since before pain started. I feel more positive but my moods change quickly. Has anyone else had these effects? ## There are plenty of people that have had good experiences with it, it's just that they aren't the ones that usually go hunting up a website for information. :-) It's a simple fact that most people don't share their good experiences with something, they only hunt up a site like... ...

I was on Lyrica 75 mg for 14 days, 150 mg for 1 day. Had nausea, headache, drunk-like feeling. Doctor took me off after 15 days. The very first day off, I had the worst pain in my abdomin, nausea, bad headache & unable to eat. After 2 weeks doctor started me on Savella. It has been 5 days on it & I have not been able to eat anything but 1 - 2 bites of food a day. Nausea so bad I had to have my husband stop on the side of the road after 3 minutes of driving. My abdomin feels like I have been poisoned. I am waking up 15 times a night, while taking 10 mg of Ambien at night. Bad headache & severe fatigue. Diarreah for 4 weeks now. Anyone else have this? ## Have you contacted your doctor about this? While the nausea, sleep issues and vomiting can be normal side effects of both th... ...

low doses of Lyrica
2 Replies RSS
I just got on Lyrica 50mg twice a day and my pain has pretty much dissapeared. I have been reading alot of really bad stories about it, but everyone seems to be taking much higher doses than i am, i was wondering if anyone knows if i stay on a low dose if i will have these horrible side effects i have read about ## Actually, the worse of the side effects should be experienced during the first month of us, they start to taper off and get less severe after that, except for in some rare cases. If you haven't had any really bad ones, so far, then you are probably doing okay with it and might only experience them if you have to increase your dosage. Also remember that medications affect different people in different ways, so you may never experience some of the problems that other people... ...

Such as mood swings, concentrating on things, forgetfulness, mixing letters and words, dizziness, hands jerking/ twicthcing in hands, ## Just found this site. I also take Fluoxetine 20mg.and Lyrica 25mg. three times a day. When I first started the Lyrica I was very disoriented, so much so I was afraid to drive. However as time has gone on that has disappeared. I have gained weight and have pretty bad dry mouth but the pain has decreased unbelievably. I just stood and danced for 2 1/2 hours at a Paul McCartney concert and did not suffer at all. The next day was another story but still manageable. ## Hi Diane, The side effects you've been experiencing are common on these medications, so you're definitely not alone.... ...

I have been suffering from pain in my legs for yrs, and now it's pretty much all over. It ranges from a dull ache in my bones, sore achy muscles, feeling of something poking or biting me in various places just out of the blue. My doc had me in pain management, but the pm doc gave up and sent me to a rhumy doc.On pain management I was on Norco which did wonders, but they don't want me on them so tried all sorts of stuff that gave no relief...the rhumy doc says no Lupus or arthritis so gave me day 3 I was so very sick (like a bad flu). so she stopped that and gave me side effects until the middle of my 2nd day and I started coughing a lot..and it has moved down into my chest with plenty of mucus..I am thinking it's the Lyrica causing the cough after rea... ...

I had been on 75mg of lyrica and 100gr of tramadol for about one year. I was mostly in severe pain due to a severed nerve that a lady dentist did to me in Canada. I have had now 4 bad side effects. 1. weight gain 2. bloated stomach -like I am 6 mo. pregnant 3. severe joint pain 4. muscle spasms mostly in right foot & gen. weakness ## Hi Evelin, I don't know what good it will do, but you can always report these side effects to the FDA's MedWatch program at: If you're able to, I would also highly recommend consuming a lot more fruits and vegetables to help c... ...
