I was wondering if anyone takes Adderall for the severe fatigue and has it worked? ## Hi Lucinda, From what I've researched, there are many studies, reviews, and drug descriptions online indicating that Adderall has a proven ability to decrease symptoms of chronic fatigue as well as improve cognitive function. Its active ingredients (dextroamphetamine + amphetamine) are also classified by nih.gov as "central nervous system stimulants", that work by regulating certain natural substances in the brain. One thing to note though, is that different manufacturers of generic/brand name adderall are reported to vary in their overall effectiveness. So it may be that you have to try a few versions out until you find what manufacturer works best. Perhaps the following related threads ca...

MY SON AGED 22, WAS HAVING SEVERE PAIN IN THE JOINTS AND FATIGUE. WE CONSULTED A RHEUMATOLOGIST. Just got to the end of week one taking Lyrica @75mg twice daily. I have had Lupus for ten years and my nerves are getting fried. Has anyone else experienced MORE pain at the beginning of this process? I usually have intermittent pain in various parts of my body from the Lupus which worsens if I'm having a flare up. But since starting the Lyrica my pain level has increased in every part of my body simultaneously. I'm hoping that this will go away after a few weeks but my fear is that it will just keep getting worse, so for now I feel like I'm just poisoning myself with every dose. I haven't seen a post on here describing this situation yet, hopefully someone can relate and help calm my nerves. (Double entendres not intended) Thanks ## That is always possible with such med...

Is there anyone who is suffering with Lupus and if so does oxycodone help? ## It was prescribed for my former sister-in-law to help deal with the aches and pains that she experienced from Lupus and she was quite happy with it. However, it can vary from person to person and she passed away years ago. Can anyone that's currently taking it and diagnosed with Lupus chime in? The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I've had SLE Lupus for going on 20 years. For the last 2 years I've been taking pretnezone and benlysta and OxyContin 80mlg every 12 hours and 2 3mg every 4 hours. I have a normal life again. I can live pain f...

My son's wife is claiming her doctor told her she has lupus. I say claimed because she is a compulsive liar and we have not seen any of lupus or that he has even said this. She has a prescription a doctor is giving her of 150 Oxycodone a month that she uses up in 2 weeks. This is a huge concern of mine because the children are being neglected while my son is at work. She is so drugged up, the 1 and 2 year old are left gated in her bedroom while shes passed out from the drugs. Also, her pysch is gone. Shes irrational, turned very mean and abusive. Common sense is no longer there. What doctor in their right mind would prescribe that amount of pills month after month. I feel she is lying about having lupus. But Heppa law prevents my son from discovering the truth. HELP!! ## Hello, Dais...

I AM HAVING A LUPUS FLARE. I AM SO FATIGUED I CAN'T DO ANYTHING, THE NAUSEA IS SO BAD, I CAN'T EAT. I'M DOWN TO 90 LBS (FOR MY HEIGHT, I SHOULD WEIGH 120 LBS). MY DR. PUT ME ON PLAQUENIL, EVEN THOUGH I WAS ADAMANT THAT I WANTED TO TAKE ATABRINE BECAUSE IT WORKED SO WELL FOR ME THE LAST TIME I HAD A FLARE. HE AT FIRST SAID THAT HE HAD NEVER EVEN HEARD OF IT BEFORE. I WAS STUNNED. I WAS EVEN MORE STUNNED WHEN MY DOCTOR, (YES, IN CASE YOU ARE WONDERING, HE IS A RHEUMATOLOGIST) NEVER EVEN TRIED TO GET IT FOR ME. HE SAID ITS NOT AVAILABLE. I KNOW THAT THAT IS NOT TRUE, I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET IT. ANYWAY, THE PLAQUENIL IS NOT WORKING, AND I AM GETTING WORSE. I CALLED LAST WEEK AND TALKED TO HIS NURSE, AND TOLD HER ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. SHE CALLED ME BACK AND SAID THAT ...

My daughter has lupus. How long does she need to take Methotrexate? Her hair has thinned as well. she takes it 1x a week.. ## Hello, Sherna37! How is your daughter? When it comes to a chronic condition, such as Lupus, you really have to weigh the risks to her life and health against the medication side effects. I'm female, so I'd not like my hair thinning, either, but it would be better than the complications that can arise, if her condition were left to rage out of control. That said, she should stay on it, as long as her doctors deems it appropriate and safe for her to take it. Other side effects to this medication, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include headache, dizziness and nausea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello! I hope your daughter is doing well. I was diagnosed with SLE and RA finally. I was given Plaquenil for the lupus symptoms and cymbalta for depression and pain. Are these good medications for SLE and RA ## Yes. I have SLE and have been prescribed Plaquenil 200mg, twice daily for the past 10 years. However my SLE began to attack my Kidneys and Lungs; therefore, I was placed on Steriods (started at 40 mg down to 7.5 mg daily) and Cellcept 2 grams daily (medication used to treat cancer) to suppress my immune system. I also take Cymbalta for depression. ## ## I also take Plaquenil twice daily for Rheumatoid Arthritis. This is an antimalarial drug that also has been found to help with RA symptoms by suppressing the immune system's response. I have my eyes checked about twice a year to ensure that this medicine has not affec...

Can you use this cream for lupus break out on the skin ## Hello, Cathy! How are you? Usually, oral medications are used, to they work systemically to alleviate as many symptoms, as possible. I'm not sure if a topical cream would do much to help, but you could check with your doctor to see what they think. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, dryness and itching. Are you on any medications? ## I have skin discolouration & it appears as if it's possibly spreading or maybe I'm developing a skin rash but will Gelmicin help if I apply it?

Has anyone found real help by adding this drug to treat Lupus SLE- or other autoimmune diseases? What about the side effects? Is your skin yellow? Is it upsetting your stomach badly? If so, are the side effects worth the difference it makes on your condition? ## Hi Cat, Although I personally don't take Quinacrine, I'd like to mention that it is really up to you to determine whether or not the medication is worth the risks and benefits. Reason being is that every medication is going to effect each person differently. So while one person may get great results and experience very little side effects, it could be an entirely different experience for you or someone else. This is the case with every other drug, whether it be pain killers or anti-depressants, so I think it's safe t...

new drug for lupus ## I am on daily of 3000mg of cell cep for threatment of Pemphagus.are there any long term usage side effects?I have been on it close to four years .any chance of weaning the medication out? ## Did you mean the immunosuppressive drug Cellcept? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, vomiting, headache, and runny nose. As to long term side effects, there are always risks with taking any medication, such as liver damage, or kidney damage. As to weaning off of it, the really depends on the severity of your condition, and what your doctor thinks you should do.
