pain medication ## My stepson was prescribed a pain med for his Lumbar back injury sustained at work. Not sure if it's LowerTabs or LorTabs, but he's also taking Ibuprofen and has broken out in rather large painful swollen spots. Could this be an alergic reaction to one or the other? ...

I found a lump under my arm and my dr.prescribed the ST antibiotic. I just took the last one after taking 2 a day for a week. The lump hasnt changed at all. Im trying to understand why he would give me an antibiotic for a lump anyway. Idk. Hes the dr.right! ## Hello, Sunni! How are you? Well, only your doctor can give you a definitive answer, but it seems there's a good chance he may have thought it was some type of cyst. An antibiotic is often the first thing to try to get rid of surface cysts like that. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, some lumps under the arm are due to blocked sweat glands. I used to get them, when I used one particular brand of deodorant. Once I stopped using ... ...

2 Replies RSS
My doctor told me it would be ok to take these two drugs together. They both state that nausea can be a side effect. When I was taking the Bactrim I had no symptoms but the day I took both, my stomach hurt for three days and of course I did not take another vyvanse since. I am writing because when I used to take Adderal and drink coffee a few hours before, I would have the same symptoms and now. since I had coffee just before taking these pills, I am wondering if the coffee is the cause and not the combined pills. thanks ## Hello, Luke! How are you? It is likely that the combination of the Coffee and Vyvanse are the cause, since they are both stimulants, so together they may be too much for you. However, only your doctor can discover the cause for sure. The FDA lists the typical side ef... ...

I have an lung/chest infection and 18 tablets of sulfameth/trimeth 800/160 800-160 is this a sufficient supply to begin to use this drug. ## Did you end up taking them? That would be enough to almost do a complete course, which would usually be 2 a day for 10 days, so 20 tablets, but you shouldn't take them unless a doctor has told you to and the presence of an infection has been confirmed. how long do it take bactrim to work

I noticed a small lump behind my left ear Sunday. ByThursday, it was large, red, and very painful. My earlobe was swollen as well. Then I noticed the tenderness starting down the left side of my neck. I saw my Dr. yesterday and was diagnosed with cellulitis. She gave me Bactrim 800-160 twice daily. I took my two doses yesterday. When I woke this morning, my earlobe looks like it's gonna pop, the lump is no smaller and instead of just tenderness in the neck, there's swelling between the jaw and earlobe. My question is, does Bactrim take a few days to start seeing and feeling results? My Dr Office is closed due to the holiday weekend and I don't know who else to ask. Thanks ## Hello, Chris! Gleevec & marijuana
1 Reply RSS
Does taking medical marijuana adversely affect the treatment? I am taking an 800mg dose of Gleevec a day and have had my tumor removed. ## As of this time, tests have not shown marijuana to adversely react with any medications, or treatments. However, it can have some adverse effects on your lungs, overall, according to FDA reports, just like smoking anything else would. It can also cause dizziness, and a very bad case of the munchies, from what I've heard. LOL Given that you are on Gleevec and have had a tumor removed, it is always best to double check with your doctor about adding, or changing anything else, just to be extra careful. How are you reacting to the Gleevec? Have you experienced any problematic side effects from it? ...

I take 3-5mg Valium plus 3-8mg subutex daily. I've heard its not a good combo to take at all! I take the Valium for panic and anxiety attacks and take the subutex for chronic pain. antibiotic for bronchitis not penicillin
1 Reply RSS
I have copd and have developed bronchitis over the last week or so. I am allergic to penicillin. My doctor believes the bronchitis is bacterial and has prescribed a medication that the prescription insert says "May cause serious lung problems. Tell your doctor if you develop a cough, shortness of breath, or chest pain" all of which I have with copd and bronchitis. He also prescribed 5 days of prednisone and a pro air inhaler. What would be the best antibiotic given this information. (The medication is sulfameth/trimethoprim 800160mg TB.) ## There are risks associated with all medications and that warning is usually included with most antibiotics, due to the possibility of hypersensitivity reactions, thus, I really don't know what I could suggest that might be safer for you. ... ...
