Blood pressure 90/60 since June. Been on Losartin for 15 years. This year had knee replacement surgery for painful knee; pain for last 6 years. Now no pain and no stress full job, so dr. thinks my blood pressure has dropped because no more pain or stress; he lowered it to 50 mg from 100 mg. Still 60/90. Lowered it to 25.mg and still 60/90. Am eating more potassium every meal, weight is 160 at 5'5" age 65. Do you think no stress and no pain means no high blood pressure? Can I possibly go off of it? ## Hello, Susan! How are you doing? my losartan 100mg tablets from my last refill now are green in color and smaller in size. i spoke with my kelsey pharmacy and was told they are using a different mfg aurobindo. I looked them up and they are located somewhere in India. my losartan was coming from mfg northstar. how can i tell if the ingredience in the new green pills are the same as the white larger pills? Problems with certain generics, took Teva brand for years, worked like a charm, they stopped making it, tried Solco brand and it gave me severe stomach pains, took namebrand and it gave me chest pain and palpitations anyone have similar experience? I am supposed to take l00mg of losarting daily I accidently took 100mg extra thinking it was my statin and then took my usualy dose of 50mg this a.m. and then thought back when I began to feel unwell that I have taken 150 too much in a 24 hour period. Can I take Losartin rather than Avalide. ## Avalide is actually a combination medication, it contains the ARB Irbesartan and the diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide. Losartan is currently the only generic ARB available on the U.S. market, however, you would also need the Hydrochlorothiazide, which is also available as a generic. You may want to check with your pharmacy to see which is cheaper to purchase, the two as separate generics or the Avalide. Are there any questions or comments?

Doing it just once isn't likely to result in any severe problems, but it could result in your blood pressure going too low, according to the FDA, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness, than usual. If your symptoms become severe, you should seek immediate medical attention. ## Thankfully there were no side effects. I believe I was just very lucky on this one. 2 years ago I was taking linsinopril, developed a dry cough. Doc. Said was allergy to ace inhibitors. Switched me to losartan. I have now developed a dry cough again. I was checked for allergies, took prilosec to see if it was acid reflux, no for each. Losartan has a side effect of dry cough also. The last dose of losartan I took was 48 hours ago, still have the cough. Is the losartan still in my system? ## I have been off the losartan for over a week but the cough continues. I am taking losartin and amlodipine for high blood pressure. I have read that chlonidine can help with hyperhidrodis which I have. Can all of these be taken together? ## Hi Patricia, According umm.edu's drug interaction checker, there are no interactions listed between Losartan + Amlodipine + Clonidine. I cross referenced this on other sites as well and nothing came up, so I think you should be good based off this information. It is most likely because either your blood pressure, or heart rate is too low, perhaps both. The typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. And yes, there will be a period where your blood pressure and heart rate go up, after stopping the Losartan, but it shouldn't be a serious/dangerous raise, since you are still taking the other one. Generally, if you just took one extra tablet it isn't going to have a very large effect. Your blood pressure may go a little lower than normal, but this medication does take time to reach its full effect in your body, so for any severe issues to occur, you'd usually have to take extra regularly for several weeks. However, if your blood pressure and heart rate did start to go lower than normal, you may experience some dizziness, severe drowsiness, trouble breathing and if you do, then you should seek medical attention. I just received a new Losartin K refill. The pill is round pink with sz 214 Identifer marking. Is this a generic? ## Losartan is a generic to begin with, the name brand would be Cozaar. And yes, the tablet you received contains 100mgs of Losartan. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take 100mgs of losartin and at night take 100mgs of Atenolol I took a double dose of losartin today, is that dangerous.
