3 Topics Founda friend has had serious side effects from this drug and has commited suicide. ## My gosh I am so sorry to hear that. I hope the family will be seeking compensation for this in some form or another. It is really really sad when the side effects of the drug overpower it's intended use. I think the med you are talking about is called Lexapro - I would read about it. I am not sure if extreme depression or suicidal tendencies is a common side effect of this. anti depressant ## I believe the medication in question was actually Lexapro, which contains the active ingredient Escitalopram and is an SSRi antidepressant. Learn more Lexapro details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes. Are there any comments or questions?

Just wondering what lexapril and valiums show up as in a drug screen??? ## Lexapril/Lexapro is an antidepressant in the SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) category. SSRIs are not tested for in usual tests UNLESS asked for. Which I would think is fairly uncommon. But they have been known to cause false positives mostly as Amphetamines & occasionally even Benzodiazepines. As for the Valium it is a Benzodiazepine & if taken within the detectable amount of time the test would be positive for Benzodiazepines.
