Ive been taking levothyroxine sod 0.125 for a long time now and managed to keep a stable weight. However, I am trying to drop more with cardio, weight training and a strict diet. My diet is much like a body builders diet by staying trim and lean. I have dropped 30 pounds in 6 months but i cannot go any further. A lot of it has to do with my diet... I am trying to find almost the perfect diet to help me succeed in losing more weight with Hypothyroidism. Is there anyone out there who has this knowledge? ## Have you consulted your doctor? They would be the best person to advise you on how to do it in a safe and healthy manner. Weight issues are a very common problem from both this medication and thyroid disorders. You may find it helpful to keep a food diary for several weeks, that way you...

Ever since my total Thyroidectomy I have been taking Levothyroxine and I feel awful. I have low energy and get short of breath. I heard people gain weight but I keep losing weight yet my numbers are level. Anyone else experience this? ## Shortness of breath could be caused by an allergic reaction to this medication, you should talk to your doctor about this possibility. As to the weight loss, this is a possicle side effect, not everyone gains weight.

I take .25 very low dose of synthroid. I took 3 cardispan and have been losing weight. Is this good or bad? When taken both, what does it do to the body? ## Cardispan contains the active ingredient Levocarnitine to boost metabolism, there are not interactions listed between using it with the Levothyroxine in the Synthroid, but you should check with your doctor to be certain. Using the Cardispan this way is actually not approved in the U.S., so there may be some problems that are not listed in the regular medication databases. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking levothyroxine 50mcg for 1 week. I've being taking care of my self, watch what I eat and I try to walk every day 20 to 30 mint. My weight before I start levothyroxine was 138lbs and know I weight 130lbs in just one week! Is that ok?? or what do guys think? ## Hi Blanca, The thyroid gland controls how quickly the body uses energy, and since Levothyroxine is used to treat an under active thyroid, it makes good sense that your metabolism and fat burning would rev up during the time that you're on this medication. I would however question whether or not the pounds you are losing is really just water weight as opposed to fat cells? One way to know for sure would be to weigh yourself in the morning as well as in the evening. If your weight fluctuates it's likely ...

I have hypothyroidism, is clearly that i have weight loss problems, my doctor prescribe to me levothyroxine88 mg but instead of loosing i keep gaining weight. My question is anyone knows if i can take fruta planta without any problems while im in this medication? ## Is your doctor checking your thyroid hormone levels regularly? If they are still fluctuating then that may be why you keep gaining, rather than losing. It is a pretty common occurrence for people with thyroid problems. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. And as to the Fruta Planta, it's really best to stay away from it, because in FDA testing, it was found to be adulterated. It contained an undeclared drug ingredient, which is why they made them stop selling at U.S. retail locations. What types of foods do you eat and...
