Need help with lower back pain caused from sport - cricket
Post a Reply
My name is Leon, over the past five years or so I injured my lower back from the sport cricket. I was the fastest bowler in my cricket club, then one day in a practice session I bowled and I get a shock in my lower back and could not walk due to the pain in my lower back. I went to the hospital, did some scan and they could not find anything amiss. They then gave me an inj. for the pain and some Panadol. A few days later I was good to go, but a year back as I was in the shower I bend and could not move my lower back. That same pain hit me like a train again, so I checked in at the hospital, where they could not find anything wrong. I was treated the same way then sent home. In just a few days I was all good to go again. Now I am in the same boat all over again. Plz help. ...

antibiotic for fever and cold
1 Reply RSS
I am having mild fever with cough and cold and running nose since 4 days. Taken paracetamol & Leon but fever is not going and also the cold. ## A cold is caused by a virus, so an antibiotic will not help with that. An antibiotic will only help with a bacterial infection. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

I am taking szm/tmp ds 800-160 and doxy-cycl 100mg both twice daily and just observed very reduced urine flow. please advise what to do ## Hello, Leonard! How are you? The SMZ/TMP, which is a generic for Bactrim, is a sulfa based antibiotic, so it might cause urinary retention. Have you contacted your doctor? You may need to switch to a different antibiotic. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. How long has this been occurring? ...

Blood thinner medicine list

I've been advised to stop taking blood thinners pre-op and want to know if any of my meds or vitamin supplements are blood thinners? ## Hi Leonard, Can you please take a moment to list the specific medications and vitamins or supplements that you're currently on? There are many substances (both prescription and OTC/natural) that could fall under this category; so to narrow it down based on your unique situation would make providing an answer much easier. Hope all is well! ...

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. How To Cure A 3rd Degree Burn Caused By Motorcycle Muffler
1 Reply RSS
it is now the 6th day... applied antibiotic ointment yet the wound is still wet and prickingly painful when moved ## Hi, Leonard! Sorry about the burn. However, a third degree burn wouldn't be painful and would be such a deep burn into your muscle tissue that it would require medical attention. If it's wet and painful, then it's most likely a second degree burn. If that's the case, then you need to keep it clean and cool. However, there is no way to cure it, it will only heal with time. Have you had your doctor check it out? You should do so, just to be certain it doesn't get infected. Aloe Vera gel can also be very soothing. ...

Can I Take Methadone To India
1 Reply RSS
I am wanting to go to India for 3 week. I am currently taking methadone , been dependent on Mathadone for 3 year now. Will I be able to take my medication with me to India? ## Hi Leon, Based on my research, prescription drugs are said to be exempt from the standard TSA (airport security) rules. However it's possible that the rules may be somewhat different when traveling abroad. As long as you declare them at the security checkpoint, you should be fine. I'm sure the TSA has to make exceptions all the time for various medical necessities; but I would just recommend visiting the TSA website for more details on what they do and do not allow, if you need more specific details on the matter. I hope this helps! ...

vari betamethasone cream used for acne

I have acne on the back of my neck. My age is 71 years. I have tried antibiotics with no success. I am desperate. Info I got says it is incurable. Please help. ## Hello, Leon! How are you? Actually, since this cream contains a steroid, it can cause acne as a side effect, so it isn't likely to help, according to the NIH. Acne is always curable, so to speak, depending on the underlying cause. If you deal with whatever is causing it, the acne will go away. Are you on any medications? Did your doctor give you any idea of what's causing the acne? ...

Can a pain doctor write a 180 tab script of oxycodone
1 Reply RSS
I'm prescribed 120 tablets of oxycodone every month for chronic pain. I just got a full knee replacement. He then wrote me 180 pills for this month. Is that legal? ## Hello, Leonard! How are you? Yes, they can prescribe more under certain circumstances and its perfectly legal. Generally, they just prescribe more for a short period of time and not as an ongoing thing. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
