I have a 9 month old baby boy who weighs 10.5 kg. He had his first asthma attack since he was on his 6th. Monthly he would had his attacks. His first pediatrician prescribed him 1 nebule Salbutamol (Ventolin) and 1/2 nebule Budesonide (Asmavent) every 4 hours, Prednisone (Prolix) 2.5ml 2x a day, Pocaterol HCl (Meptin) 2.5ml 3x a day and Cefixime (Tergecef) 1.5ml 2x a day. Then I went on a second opinion pediatrician, she prescribed Ceterizine (Allerkid) 1ml before bedtime, Salbutamol-Ipratropium (Duavent) 1 nebule for every 6 hours, Erythromycin (ilosone) 2ml 3x a day and Montelukast (Kastair) 1 tablet before bedtime. kastair 10mg how long it should take? ## Kastair contains Montelukast, it is used to treat asthma and allergy attacks. Most of these medications work pretty fast, but it really depends on the severity of the attack being treated and the medication formulation. I have allergic rhinitis and would like to know whether or not it's safe to take Montelukast, even though I am taking Rifampicin now? Thanks. ## From what I can find, they can be used together, but the antibiotic Rifampicin can reduce the effectiveness of the Montelukast, by making it clear out of your body faster than normal. This means it may not help you as long or as much as it would, if you weren't taking the antibiotic, but it is not dangerous. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain, though.

Can someone who's taking kastair can also take a cough or decongestant medicine whenever they have a cough or clogged nose?
