Stalopam 10mg

Can STALOPALM 10MG be taken TWICE DAILY..which comes to 10MG + 10MG =20mg a day for LIFETIME without any major side effects...? My friend is taking it for last 16 Yrs for her depression & introverted nature..this medication has helped her a lot n have made her more confident n jovial & friendly person which is good..but she has become very forgetful since last couple of yrs after taking this medication..forgetful to the extent of forgetting the food kept on gas for hours..or forgetting to switch off the heater after use n only realises the next day..is it due to this medicine..is there a better alternative to this medicine..?? PLS REPLY AS I AM WORRIED ABT MY FRIEND..PLS..
