Is Propoxyphene Like Hydrocodone

Have pill that is orange brown, oval, with V5114. I think it is Hydrocodone but I do not know if it is a 5, 7.5 or a 10 in strenght. Could someone please tell me. Im wondering why I would be able to take darvacett & percocetts but I cant take vicodin. Arent theese medications all the same? Would the fact that I have a codeine allergy make a difference? Propoxyphene has also just been pulled from the market, due to the cardiac problems it can cause. I know they took this drug off the market....Is there another drug that would be similar in effect? What is in Darvocet "5112 V"? Is it as effective as Vicodin 750? ## 5112V is a generic Darvocet, which contains Acetaminophen 650mg + Propoxyphene 100 mg. I cannot take hydrocodone and darvon was working great. I could handle it just a night if it was codiene, but don't know what to ask for. Chronc back pain. ## All medications that contain Propoxyphene have been removed from the market, by the FDA. I am wondering as far as strength and pain relief when comparing darvocet 5114 V to lorcet 10/650 as far as ingredients and side effects mainly ingredients ## The Darvocet is a much milder narcotic, it contains 650mgs of Acetaminophen and 100mgs of Propoxyphene, which is the mildest available. The Lorcet contains the Acetaminophen with Hydrocodone, which is much stronger.
