Is Nifedipine A Blood Thinner

My Nifedipine blood pressure pills got wet. Are they still good to use? ## If it was just water, they wouldn't become toxic, or anything, but if they partially dissolved they may not be as effective. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Overall, it would be best to check with your pharmacist, you may need to pick up a refill sooner than usual. Are you on any other medications? ## I'm taking nifedipine to control my blood pressure and want to know if it is a blood thinner?

so far ny wife is prescribed : TG TOR 20 mg 1 tab/day Deplatt 20 mg 1 tab/day Coversyl Plus 1 tab/day Depin Retard 20 mg 1 tab/day she had a partial block in left Carotid vain. but yesterday, we received: LOPRIN 75 mg for Depin Retard and ZOSTA 10 mg for TG TOR. are they ok? ## Loprin is a low dose aspirin to slow clotting of the blood ## Yes, that is odd. Depin Retard contains the active ingredient Nifedipine, which is an anti-anginal medication and the Lopin is, as Donna said, Aspirin, used as a blood thinner. They are not interchangeable. The TG TOR contains Atorvastatin and the Zosta contains Simvastatin, they are in the same class of medications and are used to lower cholesterol, so switching from one to the other here isn't really a problem. Who made the switch? Was it ordered...
