Is methocarbamol (robaxin) a steroid or anti-depressant? I started using it two months ago in Apr 2013 and I am experiencing severe mood swings. The two things that cause me mood swings is IM, IV, or oral steroids or any type of anti-depressant. I'm becoming reclusive, angry and noncommunicative. This happens every time I'm exposed to either drug category. I know depressants can also cause these side effects, but I've had lots of those without side effects whereas I've never taken one of the aforementioned without them. Thx! ## No, Robaxin/Methocarbamol is just a muscle relaxant, but mood changes are warned about in the monograph as being a potential serious side effect. Thus, you should most likely stop taking it and contact your doctor as soon as possible. It seems it ...

I have Arthritis and I just got Rumoquin NF is there something else I can take without the weight gain? ## Rumoquin NF contains the active ingredients: 100mgs of Phenylbutazone (a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory): 200mgs of Methocarbamol (a muscle relaxant): and Dexamethasone (a corticosteroid): That said, the weight gain can be caused by the steroid, Dexamethasone, though it does not affect everyone. You could try asking your doctor for an alternative that does not have a steroid in it, because it is a common side effect to all of them. Have you spoken to your doctor about your concerns on gaining weight? ## If all of these people "spoke to their dr" they obviously wouldn't be asking a question. Not to mention all the mexico posts. Is it possible to import Rumoquin from outside the United States? I think it's over the counter, just not out here. Worked really great for me when I needed it during a trip. I just wonder if customs allows you to bring back medication for personal use? ## Hello, Mere! How are you? If you are taking something, or it is prescribed for you, while visiting another country, you can bring back up to a 3 month supply with you. However, since the FDA doesn't like these combinations, so it's not approved here, you wouldn't be able to just import it or anything. It is listed as containing the NSAID Diclofenac; the steroid Dexamethasone and the muscle relaxant Methocarbamol. I got the pills from a friend, she shared with me her supply. Where can I get them for me? ## Rumoquin contains the active ingredients Dexamethasone and Methocarbamol. This combines a steroid with a muscle relaxant to treat pain and swelling. As to where you can order it, I am not certain. Have you tried just doing an interent search? As to delivering it to the states, it is possible, however, since these medications are available in the U.S., thought not in a combine form, it is actually illegal to do so. They only permit the importation of medications that do not have an equivelent available here. Side effects to using this can include: nausea, dizziness, weight gain and drowsiness. Is it okay to take Rumiqoun N.F. If you have glaucoma? ## Rumoquin NF contains Dexamethasone, Methocarbamol, and Pheylbutazone. The Dexamethasone is a steroid class medication, and it has been known to cause glaucoma in some people, since one of its side effects is increased ocular pressure, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, sedation, mood changes, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am having a reaction to the medication ardosons and trying to get more details about this drug. ## Hi stephanie, Sorry to hear about your reaction to that medication. Are you feeling any better now? Based on my research, the ingredients found in Ardosons are: Indomethacin, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory; Betamethasone, which is a steroid class medication; and Methocarbamol, which is a muscle relaxant. Since each medication can effect you differently, I think you really have to look at each drug's individual profile to get a better idea of what side effects are really associated with the medication as a whole. It may also be a good idea to contact your doctor about any safer alternatives to Ardosons. You can learn more about these drugs on the pages for: Indomethacin Det...

I can't get to Mexico to get them. ## You could always go to your doctor and ask for methocarbamol and a steroidal anti inflammatory drug (like prednisone). Those are the two main ingredients in Artridol, aside from the NSAID.
