My dr proscribed Ambien and it just didn’t work. I would take 3 or 4 pills over the course of a night/day. Now I am out and it takes me 6 hours to fall asleep. My question is this. If I pay cash can I get an Rx for Valium before my 30 days is up? The medication is not working and I’m getting about 2 hours a sleep a night. Two nights I stayed up all night and throughout the next day. Is this lack of sleep bad for my health? ## The Zolpidem in Ambien is a sedative hypnotic, though it is related to Benzodiazepines, they are different and are used to treat different conditions. You should be able to get a Valium prescription, before the 30 days is up, but that policy can vary depending on your insurance plan, and your doctor's policy. Have you tried checking with your doctor...

how can a pharmacist charge the order of a doctor prescription? I been on my medication since 1999. now, I need to go to an pain clinic. why? everybody wants money and a pain clinic only going to give me more medicines to take. if its not broke why fixed it> ## A pharmacist cannot change it, but they can refuse to fill it. There were new regulations put in place by the DEA, so a PCP can no longer prescribe such medications on a long-term ongoing basis. And not all pain specialists are going to prescribe you more medications, they usually try other treatment options, that don't require habit forming substances. There was a lot of abuse and over/improper prescribing, which the government is now trying to curb. Do you have any other questions or concerns? ## There are no new laws s...

I am a 55 year old woman on hormone replacement .I have to get my prescription through mail order, and they wrote and said " medications that contain methyltestosterone have now been classified as a controlled substance". I take a estrog/methyl 1.25/2.5 every day . They also say that due to a new law through DEA I will now have to get my prescription as a 6 month supply or 5 refills max. Can you tell me if this is true or are they just jerking people around? ## Actually, it's been classified that way since 1990, under the Anabolic Steroids Act, it just hasn't been enforced previously. Learn more Methyltestosterone details here. There have been a lot of crackdowns happening recently to force pharmacies to start complying with laws that they were previously ignoring. So ye...

What is this pill? ## I have looked everywhere for information about a white oblong pill that has the impressions of ph 073 on it. No other markings. Pill identifier has no listing nor does poison control. Any assistance is much appreciated. ## Is it possibly PH 063? We have discovered that tablet to be 400mgs of Guaifenesin, a generic or store brand of Mucinex. If it really is PH 073, then it is also more than likely an oTC item, which would explain why it's not in any databases and also why poison control didn't know what it is. OTC items are not required to have their markings logged by the government. You can see several threads about the one with the PH 063 marking here: It is highly possible that this is the same substance, but in a different dosage. ## This pill PH 063 is...

I have some round tablets that say watson on one side and has a P on the other side. Can you tell me what kind of pill this is. I have taken many pills in the last 6 years and these pills I put in a different bottle. So I don't know if they are pain killers or not. Please help me with this. Thanks, Mendy ## Round green pill, Watson on one side, P on the other side is actually a placebo oral contraceptive. This basically means that they are sugar pills and don't do anything (inert substance). If you don't mind me asking, were you involved in any clinical trials for birth control meds? If not, how did you manage to get these pills? Not very often I hear of somebody getting a placebo…

My friend and I are developing a device for a company. The device we’re trying to re-create is basically a newly designed prescription pill bottle/device. In order to develop this device, we need to know the exact size, diameter and dimensions of most prescription pills(mostly narcotics and controlled substance drugs)…..for example: the exact size of Xanax 1mg is: 6 X 3(mm) and Hydrocodone 500mg is: 15 X 7 X 7(mm). There are many different manufacturers of Xanax, Hydrocodone, etc, especially in the generic market, and the exact pill size varies considerably depending on the dosage and manufacturer. We haven’t been able to find a website, or any source, that supplies all the information we need for the exact dimensions of prescription pills. We’ve spent hours look...

My sister had stage 4 cancer this was one of her meds before being placed on liquid morphine. Should I flush? I found 2 ## Hello, Fred! How are you? No, please do not flush any medications. The FDA guidelines for proper disposal state that they should be mixed with some undesirable substance, such as used cat litter or wet coffee grounds, placed into a sealed container and then disposed of in your usual garbage. Alternatively, you can also take them to any pharmacy and they will dispose of them for you. This tablet is listed as being a 60mg controlled release Morphine tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there ...

I have a written prescription from my primary doctor dated 11/20/10 for Hydrocodone. What is the last date it can be filled by a pharmacist? ## Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain reliever and, therefore, a controlled substance, so most pharmacies will not fill it this long past the date it was written. You can ask, because some pharmacy policies vary, but the chance of getting anyone to do so, without approval from your doctor is highly unlikely. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other comments or questions? ## A prescription of this type (a schedule III controlled substance) is good for 6 months also it only is refillable 5 times not counting the original fill.

Can apain clinic take your opana before they agree to treat you?they took 55out of 60 opan30 i brought too first appt. as i was told to bring all my meds.i was given a script of oxycontin 10mg2/day told take script leave opana or take opana and leave script. i just had major back surgery18 days prior please help ## Well, they really gave you the option, take one or the other. And yes, they are allowed to do so, it's considered a contractual agreement for treatment and most clinics do this. IE: If you want them to treat you, your part of the agreement is that you will not take any controlled substance medications other than what they prescribe for you. If you don't agree, you leave and they don't treat you. These agreements are also usually very, very strict. Some go as far a...

My dog needs this medicine every day due to a collapsing trachia. I have been told that it's not being produced anymore. Does anyone know where I can get it??? Thanks! ## You can get it all wallgrens, CVS, any human pharmacy ## No, I've tried them all and they tell me that they can't get it. I just moved to Colorado Springs a few months ago. I am trying to find a psychiatrist who will help with my bipolar,OCD, and anxiety. Okay, so I have a prescription that is exactly 1 month old tomorrow. It is for seven Vyvanse 50 mg and in 2 days I will be getting my normal monthly script for 60 mg Vyvanse. Can I fill the 50 mg for 7 days today without having a problem filling my original script of 60 mg for 30 days? ## Most likely not, it could be seen as suspicious, essentially you'd be going down in your dose, then suddenly back up. The FDA warns that his medication is a controlled substance that carries the risk of being habit forming, it may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and weight loss. Why were you prescribed two different dosages? Are they from the same doctor?
