IP 466 one side, line/score in the middle on reverse side. I've seen pics of IBuprofen, but it doesn't look like that because they were smooth on one side; didn't have the score. Any clues?

My son has been taking the ip466 pills for 2 1/2 days now, for strep. Tonight he has been complaining of stomach pain and feeling nauseous. It's been over 6 hours since his last dose. Should he still feel this way? He will not be taking any more for pain but we are wondering when the pain and nausea should subside. Thanks for any help. ## Is he also on an antibiotic? Both this Ibuprofen tablet, as well as antibiotics can cause nausea, vomiting and stomach pain as side effects, according to the FDA. Thus, if he's still taking an antibiotic for the Strep, these symptoms may not go away, yet.

white oblong pill - was told it was vicodin ## That is incorrect, this tablet is not Vicodin, nor any type of narcotic. This tablet contains 800mgs of Ibuprofen, a generic for prescription strength Motrin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Do you have any other questions? ## Incorrect Verwon, even in the reply thread you posted the pill description and picture does not match. The correct match to IP466 is Carisoprodol, commonly referred to as Soma. I have this prescription at the highest level dose ( 350MG [comes in either 250or360] ). And I quote from the label This is a muscle relaxant. May cause Drowsiness. Alcohol can intensify this effect. Avoid alcohol/use caution when operating a car or heavy machinery. ## Sorry Sun - Verwon is actually correct. IP 466 is Ibuprofen 800 mg manfuac...

I have two pills that are 800 mg Ibuprofen one has I8 on one side and the other pill has IP466 is there any difference in these two pills? ## No, they have just been made by different manufacturers. It's pretty common, once a medication is available as a generic and each manufacturer has to use different markings, so the pills can be traced back to them in case of an emergency. Learn more Ibuprofen details here. This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. does this pill require a prescription? ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Ibuprofen (800 mg). Low doses of ibuprofen (200 mg, and sometimes 400 mg) are available over the counter (OTC) in most countries. Generally, the oral dose is 200 to 400 mg (510 mg/kg in children) every 46 hours, adding up to a usual daily dose of 800 to 1,200 mg. 1,200 mg is considered the maximum daily dose for over-the-counter use, though under medical direction, the maximum amount of ibuprofen for adults is 800 milligrams per dose or 3200 mg per day (4 maximum doses). They work great for me but a short time ago I started to vomit blood, I was also taking asprin . Is there any thing I can do to be able to take I b466 and be safe? ## Have you had yourself checked out to see why you were vomiting blood? That's really the first thing you need to do. Many times when that happens, it's due to either an ulcer, or gastritis and then it may not be a good idea to take Aspirin or this Ibuprofen tablet for awhile, until you can get it cleared up. do the Ibuprofen IP 466 and the Ibuprofen I8 have the same exact inactive ingredients? I have gotten muscle pain and headaches with the I8 and never got them with the IP466 I thought maybe something was different in the inactive ingredients. can you please help me ## Hello, Kate! How are you? As long as they are using ones from the FFA approved list, none of them have to be the same from one manufacturer to the other, so yes, it could be the in actives that are causing your problem. Headaches can also be side effects of NSAIDs, though most people take them to treat headaches. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?
