Ip 272. Is a generic for Bactrim DS. Treats all symptoms listed from other comments. The one thing everyone forgot to mention is that it also treats moderate to severe acne and cystic acne. Amazing how my skin cleared up since I have been using the drug. Remember to take In morning and night, preferably with food if you have a sensitive stomach, and plenty of water. I noticed after taking the drug for awhile that I did have joint pain, but other than that it works amazing.. ## @Fiat, It may help with acne as an off-label use, but the only problem I see that could stem from long term use is that, without having an actual infection to treat, this could create antibiotic resistance to the point where if you did have an infection it may end up becoming much more difficult to eradicate than ...

I got this pill in 02/2013 can I still take it now 05/2014 ## Hello, Minnie! How are you? That's well over a year old, so they aren't going to be as effective, since they're expired and that creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. It would be best to dispose of them and get a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?

my doctor has told me to take two of the sulfamethoxazole-tmp twice a day, and I'm really feeling sick since I've taken the second one, is this not an awful high dosage to be taken. ## The dose of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim largely depends on the type of infection you have and how severe it is. However, these pills you have marked "IP 272" are regarded as "double-strength tablets". For most infections, I found that the dosing schedule was one double strength tablet (800mg/160mg) every 12 hours for roughly 7-10 days; so if you feel like you're taking too much, I would suggest contacting your doctor about this concern. Some of these antibiotics have very harsh side effects and I don't blame anyone for wanting get off of them as soon as possible. ## I a...

How many times a day can i take ip272 i just started it today im in bad pain trying to get rid of it its an infection in my mouth ## You should take it as instructed by your doctor. I understand you are in pain, but all antibiotics can take a few days to begin beating the infection. The general rule is that if it is working, you should not see any worsening after taking it for a full 24 hours, and you should start to see improvement after taking it for a full 72 hours. If not, then you should return to your doctor. Taking more than prescribed will not change this. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Seriously? Is Everyone just hoping their little white pills are some kind of hydrocodone! Wow. Wonder why 2015 is the year the FDA decided that all C2 RX would have to be written, signed off by a DR. and carried into the pharmacy. The good old fax, phone call came to a screaming halt, due to the general public wanting to catch a buzz. Pissed off the rest of us who really need pain meds to function on a day to day basis. Try cannabis or grab a beer. Get off my RX. Refills. I don't take your food do I? Get help. ## Do you even know why so many people are asking if this is hydrocodone? No? Me either, but if they're going through what I'm going through right now, then they may be freaking out cause they just found this pill in their teenagers room, or they got their meds mixed u...

If u r allergic to bactrim what can happen ## Hello, Christina! How are you? It depends on how severe the allergy is, a mild one may just result in some joint aches and hives, but a severe one could cause the person's throat to swell and impair their breathing. can you give to pigs for antobiotics for wounds ## Hi Lisa, IP 272 is reportedly identified as Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim DS (800mg/160mg). From what I could gather, this antibiotic is not FDA-approved for veterinary use. However I have read about several cases of veterinarians still prescribing Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim DS for cats and dogs... Pigs on the other hand, I have no idea. But what I would recommend doing is disclosing all of your animal's medication history to the veterinarian in order to better determine whether Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim is the most appropriate form of treatment. I hope this helps!

I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a uti, but I don't have the money for the medication right now. However I do currently have 3 ip 272 tablets - will just taking those 3 cure it? ## No, you need to take a full course of treatment to fully eradicate the bacteria. Have you informed your doctor? They should be able to prescribe something cheaper. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, headache, and non-allergic skin rash.
