Mine are labeled "sub hydrocodone acetate 5/325. They make me very sleepy and never used too. Makes it difficult to go to work on this medication, let alone drive. Thoughts? ## Hello, Kris! How are you? Yes, that means that your prescription was written for Norco and they substituted the generic Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen 5/325mgs. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What are the markings on them? That is what would enable me to check the inactive ingredients for you. Can you please post back with this additional information? Thanks!

Is there any company anywhere still manufacturing the old YELLOW Norco? (10/325 Hydrocodone Acetaminophen - formerly available by prescription from Activis/Watson.) It was suggested that a Canadian Pharmacy might still have this medicine available. It will be a year in August. When the color changed, so did my life. The side effects are horrific. Chronic pain sufferers have been lumped together with abusers. When I asked what, if any of the inactive ingredients had been changed, I was told "that's proprietary" Considering that every seed in a loaf of bread must be identified and labeled?? So, my second question- Is there any way to force the release of this information? I am not interested in litigation - takes forever. Just want to know what has changed! ## Hello, Ann! How ...

how much does one norco 10 tablet weigh? ## How many grams is one pill ## How many grams in one white 10/325 norco ## It depends on the manufacturer, since the inactive ingredients can vary from one company to another. Can you please post back with the markings on the tablets in question? That would enable me to research more information for you. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Watson 853 im pretty sure they are supposed to weigh .05 grams but i haven't found anything confirming

The white new norcos do not work, and I am back spending half my life in bed. Why is is they break in half so easily? The yellow ones couldnt be broken by hand. Who can we call? The DEA? ## Hi allie, It seems like a lot of patients have been experiencing problems with the Norco made by Actavis (formerly known as Watson). Apparently from what I understand, after Watson was bought out, Actavis made some "unnecessary" changes within the inactive ingredients, causing them to not be nearly as effective as their yellow predecessor. If you want to put in a complaint, I would suggest filing a report with the FDA under their MedWatch program, which can be reached at: fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/default.htm Maybe if enough people report similar problems they will consider making changes. I was taking 7.5 mg Lortab for 12 yrs. My Dr.switched me to Norco when the Lortab was discontinued. I can not tolerate the Norco. It does not feel as smooth with my back pain. Also my blood pressure shot way to high and it is hard to describe but it makes me feel like I have been eating rust. Could the differance be the filler used in the Norco? Also I took Vicodin with no problem. ## Hi Martha, u may not b able 2 take the narco. It just might b giving u side effects. If I were u , I would definitely talk 2 your Doctor, right away . ## @Martha, It is very possible that changes in inactive ingredients could be what's causing the side effects you didn't experience with Lortab. If you happen to know the imprint from both pills (including the previous Lortab), I'd be more than h...

I was on Vicodin for three years for a back injury now that he changed it they put me on Norco and I've been getting sick on this pain medication what can I do ? ## Hello, Bosslady! How are you? There may be different inactive ingredients in this one that don't agree with you. Have you consulted your doctor about the problem? They may be able to prescribe something to help with the nausea, or a different medication entirely.

my doc told me he was giving me norcos but the bottle says generic for lortab white oblong IP109. so is it a Norco or lortab? ## Hello! How are you? I'm sorry about the confusion, but I'm happy to clear it up for you! Norco and Lortab are both name brands for a medication that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, so it it really doesn't matter which one your pharmacy lists on the label, they have still provided you with the correct medication. The tablet you've received is manufactured by Amneal Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen (NDC 53746-109). Inactive Ingredients: - Crospovidone - Povidone - Starch, Corn - Stearic Acid The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potent...

Don't ever get that ActaVas brand Norco 10 325 white tabs they do not work I had half yellow half white last prescription big difference with the yellow ones no doubt I did my own experiment The yellow has a V on them I'm not sure what brand they are but they work much better then the Actavis ## Hi- yeah I've been taking the generic ones ( Hydrocodone), and they seem to wear off within 3 hrs. I've been searching on Google for answers and was wondering if you or anyone else knows if they contain sulfites. I get allergic reactions to sulfites and I know these could have them in the inactive ingredients. Thx. ## @Dash, The yellow one's with a V 36 01 are made by Qualitest (formerly Vintage Pharmaceuticals). From what I've heard, these yellow ones are thought to be o...

I'm recovering from my third back surgery. I can take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-325 mg tab with no stomach problems. However, when I take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 7.5-325mg tab Mallinc generic, I have severe stomach pains. The pharmacist says there is no difference except the 10 vs the 7.5. It is NOT in my mind, it's in my stomach & it really hurts. Can you clear this up for me? I will be very grateful for your attention. Thank you. ## Who manufactures the 10/325 tablet that you've taken? There can be differences in the inactive ingredients from one manufacturer to another and that can cause problems for some people that are sensitive. So, say for example that the 10/325 was manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals, the inactive ingredients could be completely differen...

Hello - I got my prescription refilled for Norco 539's, but I have always had the 853's with Watson on them. Some key differencws are the new ones are very chalky and can be broken easily while the 853's are much harder and break with a snap not a crumble. Also it's easy to scratch the norco 539 off of the face. Please let me know if anyone one has any experience with these and if they could be bad? Thanks ## How soft and crumbly a pill is depends on the inactive ingredients that the manufacturer has chosen to use. The FDA has a list of inactives which are classified under: generally considered as safe, and manufacturers can use whichever they wish from that list. These are ingredients that are considered safe for human consumption and to not have an effect on the effica...

What is the difference in Norco 5-325 and Norco 10-325. ## Hi Scarlett, Aside from obvious changes in the dosage, the primary underlying difference between these two pills are the inactive ingredients (binders & fillers) that may or may not be present in each brand. Certain "inactive" ingredients are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. So it is quite possible that you may end up having a better reaction to a lesser dose just because of bioavailability and how your system responds to various fillers such as propylene glycol, corn starch, and other genetically modified substances. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Norco Details I hope this info helps! ## The first word is always the narcotic. This second word can always b...

I have experienced many generic brands, including Watson and Qualitest. My pharmacy just changed to the Amneal brand 10-325 hydrocodone/APAP. I am just not sure what to think about this. The pills have an IP on them. What have been the experiences of others taking this specific generic brand? ## Because these drugs can affect each individual differently, my opinion is that trial and error through one's own personal experience is the only way to accurately judge the efficacy of a specific tablet. On the other hand, I do get the sense that some brands/generics are manufactured with less quality inactive ingredients than others, potentially making them more prone to cause side effects or placebo-like responses from varying degrees of bioavailability. I haven't taken the Amneal bran...

My doctor gave me the Belbuca to replace the norcos. Which one is better/stronger: Belbuca 150mg strip or norco 10-325? ## Hi Connie, Because Belbuca (Buprenorphine) and Norco are two different meds, there's no accurate way to compare their efficacy without having already taken both medications yourself to know how your body reacts/responds to each one. Some people say that they get efficient pain relief from Buprenorphine, while others suggest that it does nothing for their pain. There are also many variables to consider, such as the inactive ingredients that may affect bioavailability (or how well the tablet is absorbed and metabolized). Some of these pills have tons of binders/fillers and others have very little. Different manufacturers also use better or worse quality ingredient...
