If I go off Elequis do I go off gradually or just cold turkey? I need to take motrin for pain. Tylenol does not work for the pain. ## Hello, Jo! How are you? Normally, it is just stopped cold turkey. However, you should not stop it, without your doctor's approval. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Why are you taking it? ## Doctor said to just stop taking Elequis until I no longer have to take motrin.

If a person took 4 vicodin 5/500 how long would the side effects last because my grandmas dr. told my mom she could when she's in severe pain only once in 48hrs. ## It isn't going to last 48 hours, even if she takes that many, it is only going to last for maybe 6 to 8 hours, she may be lucky and get 10 hours of some pain relief, if her body processes it slowly. The main issue with these and taking so many of them, at once, is the Acetaminophen, it can be toxic in amounts of over 4 grams or 4,000mgs in a day and by taking 4 of these, she would be taking 2grams of it, at once. Most elderly people also process medications much slower than younger people, so it can stay in her body longer, so using that much too often could create serious ill health effects. If she is suffering from...

Aztor contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin, which is used to help lower cholesterol. It can cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches in some people that take it. Learn more Aztor details here. I have some Metformin Hcl 1000mg tablets. My dose has been reduced to 500 mg. Is it safe to cut the 1000mg ones in half? ## It is safe, as long as you weren't taking a time released formulation. This would be denoted on your prescription label by an abbreviation such as ER, XR or SR. There will usually also be a warning on them from the pharmacy that says do not crush or chew, swallow tablet whole. Metformin is an oral antidiabetic medication and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, headache, hypoglycemia and flatulence. More details: Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have a question. I split my metformin er in two and took it because I didn't know I wasn't supposed to. Will I be okay? ## Becky, it could result in your getting too much of the medication, at on...

I broke out with skin blisters while taking Levaquin 3 years ago. Today my Doctor has put me on Cipro. My question is if I am allergic to Levaquin will I have the same reaction with Cipro ## Although both medications are in the same fluoroquinolone drug class, I don't believe you'd experience the same type of reaction with a different brand. Your allergic reaction could've also been due to one or more inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) that may have been present in the Levaquin and not necessarily in Ciprofloxacin. Have you started taking the Ciprofloxacin yet with any success? ## I started with Cipro on Tuesday and have not seen any adverse reactions to it. I need to take it twice a day for 14 days so far so good. I will keep you apprised of the results. ## I did not ha...

Can you have fentanyl if you are allergic to morphine? I have a rash with morphine but can take codeine. ## They are different medications, but when you are allergic to one medication, there is always a risk of discovering others that you are also allergic to, the only way to find out is by trying it to see. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Fentanyl is basically morphine. So since they are in the same family. I will be fine

I am trying to find out if someone allergic to opiates (yet is seeking assistance for opiate addiction) would have a good chance of being allergic to Suboxone/buprenorphine? Technically, suboxone and subutex are classified as narcotics, but being partial does anyone think the same allergy would be triggered? ## If they have a genuine allergy to all opiates, then they will most likely also react to this one, there is no way to know for sure, unless they try it, though. However, one important question to ask is what symptoms did they experience, when they took opiates, that they consider to due to an allergic reaction? Quite often, the symptoms that many people think mean they are allergic to something, are actually just normal side effects. The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea...

My insurance refuses to pay for white subs and the orange get ones make me sick, rash on my neck...light headed...so the main drug in suboxone is acesulfame....an atrifificle sweetner.. ## Hello Jen! How long do I have to get records to the doctor before being seen? I need to know what all I need to bring at the time of my visit/appointment? ## Hello, Trey! How are you? There is no specific time frame set in stone, it can vary from doctor to doctor. However, I would recommend giving them at least a week, that way they have time to peruse your records, before your first visit. A doctor normally wants to be fully informed, before they write any prescriptions for a patient. For your first appointment, the NIH recommends that you take a copy of your most recent records, in case they have no received them, plus a list of any medications you are currently taking. Their office should also be able to tell you what they need. Can anyone else provide advice?

How are you? What are you blood pressure readings? Some people do manage to come off of the medication, but it must be done very carefully to prevent rebounds and should only be done, once it is certain that your diet and exercise are really helping. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Whatever you do don't stop taking your blood pressure meds unless your doctor orders it. High bp is the silent killer. You never want to discontinue it without doctors orders, especially if you are dieting, exercising and taking diet pills.

What is stronger medication a gabybentin or a tylonol 3 or 4 ## Hello, Kevin! How are you? I think you are misunderstanding what Gabapentin actually is, because it is not a regular analgesic. It is actually anticonvulsant that can help with some types of nerve pain, but it will take 4 to6 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in the body. Thus, it does not work like an actual analgesic that can alleviate pain within minutes of taking it. Thus, the Tylenol 3 or 4 is stronger, because it is an actual analgesic that contains Codeine coupled with Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Iv been on the meds for a few years to treat acne and am hoping it would of stopped me from catching the virus. ## Have you consulted your doctor? While it is an effective antibiotic, the fact that you've been on it for quite awhile might mean that you've developed some antibiotic resistance, so it may not be effective at treating or preventing other infections. Thus, if you've been exposed to Chlamydia, you may need to be treated with a different antibiotic to prevent complications. ## Has anyone taken doxycycline hyclate and developed a fever?
