The thyroid gland or simply, the thyroid /θard/, in vertebrate anatomy, is one of the largest endocrine glands. Hi - I have thyroid issues, and within the last three years my thyroid has became very active. I was told I had hyper when I was 15 and now I will be turning 22 this December. But just in last three years I have noticed that my teeth have become really bad. Decaying of my molars, sensitive to hot and cold, and jaw pain. My wisdom teeth are growing in but my dentist in Burlington (Pearl Dental) says that my wisdom teeth will not affect any other tooth unless it scrapes the others. My gums were also tender and swollen for about a week. I was wondering if having a really overactive thyroid would cause these problems? I should also tell you that my doctor is very worried that I could have a heart attack at any moment. I am dizzy, can not sleep, always hungry, losing weight fast, some days m...

How long should I use PTU for hyperthyroidism? I have been taking this medication for (1) year with my tsh checked by my dr. every (3) months. I take 2 tabs 2x's a day of the 50 mg Propylthiouracl. ## Only your doctor can advise you on whether or not it is safe for you to change the dosage of your medication. No one online can really answer that, since your full medical history, and TSH levels are unknown. Typical side effects of this medication may include nausea, dizziness, hair loss, weight changes, and skin rash. Which pill is better for hyperthyroidism, methimazole or propylthiouracil? Is there a way to get your blood taken without an emergency room? I have insurance, just do not trust hospitals. They treat you like a rotating door and you never accomplish anything. HELP. PLEASE. ## Your doctor can order blood work, some blood draws are done right at their office, or at the hospital lab, but neither requires you to go to the ER. I had been taken off of Amiodarone because I was drifting towards hyperthyroidism. The EP put me on Multaq which was totally ineffective in keeping my A-Fib under control. After a year of this, and being in and out of A-Fib for all that time, and miserable, he and my cardiologist decided I should resume Amiodarone. It's been about 2 months now since the changeover and I feel great! No A-Fib and, so far, no side effects. If I start to have thyroid issues again, I will have to deal with that or be a candidate for ablation. ## I am glad that the Amiodarone is working well for you, now. Multaq has, unfortunately, proven to be one of those medications that works really well for people, or not at all, it seems. We've had some people get great results from it, but just as many others t...

I have rapidly failing health, Graves Disease, Hyperthyroidism, low blood pressure which causes me to faint often, severe back and neck pain, from an accident in 2010, when I rolled my car 4 times... This is when my migraines became nearly unbearable to the point of vomiting from the pain. My health, and broken body prevent me from being able to work, and I'm only 39 years old! Can someone please tell me how, if possible, to start pain management with Norco 1000 mg's? Need help, can't eat, sleep, drive, exercise - I am in too much pain to participate in my own life. It's heartbreaking. ## Hello, Karen! How are you? Th...

I have been prescribed 40 mg of Propranolol 2x a day plus one multivitamin a day, I have hyperthyroidism and anemia. I was wondering if I can take 1 Capsule of Estroven nighttime before bed. ## Hello, Lilymae! How are you? As far as I know, it's safe with the Propranolol, I was able to take it with other beta blockers, after checking with my doctor. However, with your medical conditions, the thyroid issue and the anemia, I'm not sure and think you should check in with your doctor, before taking it, just to be safe. Do you take a medication for your thyroid condition?
