hydroxyzine why prescribed?

I have a bottle of HYDGROXYZ PAM 25MG and the pharmacist has written Take 1 capsule every 6 hours as needed for pain. I got this from a PA a week after having surgery on my shoulder. So, I'm confused as why it says on here not for pain. ## Hello, Colleen! How are you? No, this medication is an antihistamine that is most commonly used to treat allergic reactions and for its sedative like effects that can help with anxiety. I've never heard of it being prescribed for pain. Even when used for anesthesia, sometimes, it is combined with other medications, not used alone. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness, and dry mouth. I wonder if there was some mix up and they meant to prescribe Hydrocodone, which is a narcotic analgesic? Have you ca... ...

I found a small, white, thick, round tablet with 112 on the smooth side and only a single score on the other side. Does anyone know what this pill might be? ## I found a little white pill in with my med it was marked with a N on one side and 112 on the other side would like to know what it is. ## The tablet with just the 112 on it contains 5mgs of Oxycodone, it is a generic for Roxicodone, which is the regular release formulation. As a narcotic, this medication may be habit forming and it could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. Learn more Oxycodone details here. The tablet with the N 112 contains 25mgs of Hydroxyzine, which is an antihistamine that's used to treat allergic reactions and for its sedative like effects. Thus its side effects are... ...

capsule like pill dark green and light green with symbol of E on it and 613 ## Is loratab simular 2 xanax?? ## A Lortab is a Narcotic Pain killer and a Xanax is in the same class as a valium. very different. ## Joy is correct on those, though it should be noted that Xanax is a benzodiazepine, so it does have the potential to be habit forming. I believe that's why many think it's a narcotic or related to one. You can learn more Xanax details here. And the original capsule asked about with the E613 marking on contains 25mgs of Hydroxyzine, which is an antihistamine that's used to treat allergic reactions, insomnia, nausea and for its sedative like effects. You can learn more Hydroxyzine details here. The side effects are usually related to that and may include drowsiness, dizz... ...

white round pill with n004

The pill with that imprint is basically the same as an oxy 10 and will sometimes be used by pharmacys as a generic pill if they are out. I know this because I own a pharmacy and have had trouble with a few customers about it. ## Once again, this information is incorrect. This tablet is manufactured by Northstar Rx and they list it as containing 25mgs of Hydroxyzine. The FDA classifies this medication as an antihistamine that's used to treat allergic reactions and for its sedative like effects. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, sedation and somnolence. It is not a narcotic of any type. Is there anything I can help with? ## So r u saying that this actually oxy? ...
