oblong white pill with lP118 on it.i'm sleeping too much. ## The marking is actually IP118, this is Acetaminophen 750mgs and Hydrocodone 7.5mgs, a generic for Vicodin ES. Drowsiness is a very common side effect of all narcotic drugs, the longer you are on this dosage, the more your body should get used to it and the side effects should taper off. Unfortunately, if you are like me, then they never entirely taper off and you may have to fight drowsiness as long as you have to take narcotics. I have been on Morphine and Oxycodone, without changing the dosage, for several years now and I still have to fight drowsiness everyday. The worse of it will usually hit within a half-hour to 45 minutes of taking the pill. I just have to make myself stay awake, or sleeping is all I would do. So yo... ...

what is it? - cytochrome pathway cp-450; etc ## Hello, David! How are you? They are a superfamily of proteins which contain a heme cofactor, so they are hemoproteins. They use various large and small molecules in substrates of enzymatic reactions. Human CYPs are primarily membrane associated proteins that are located in the inner membrane of mitochondria or in the endoplasmic reticulum. They are the major enzymes involved in drug metabolism, they actually account for about 75% of it. Most drugs undergo deactivation from CYPs, either directly or through excretion from the body. Some drugs can increase or decrease their activity. This could cause you not to absorb enough of any given medication or to absorb too much of it. A good example to use is the antiseizure medication Phenytoin, sin... ...

migraines - fiorcet vs hydrocodone
1 Reply RSS
I have a 25 year history of migraines. Prescribed 1 or 2 fioricet every 4 to 6 hrs. Crazy but true, can someone she'd some light? For severe migraine relief, I need to take 2 at once. If at those times I take 1, wait 45 min for relief then take the other, it doesn't work. My experience has been that basically I have to start over, meaning that after that initial 45 min wait, I have to take 2 at one time, hitting the headache quick and hard. Also sometimes you think you will need 2 at the start and end up knowing that that was too much. So clearly, not good. My question is how can this scenario be? And why doesn't hydrocodone even with some caffeine and tylenol work for my migraines? Migraines are such a balancing act. Going to try Depakote, but keep my fioricet close by. ## ... ...

I couldn't take my back discomfort while trying to have an MRI. My doctor prescribed this for me to take during my next appointment. My concern is that the med will take the discomfort away for the duration of the MRI which is 45 minutes and can't be stopped. Would I dare take 2? ## You should not take more than your doctor has instructed, one tablet should last about 4 to 6 hours for most people. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you on any other medications? Sometimes a sedative also helps with such problems. ...

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Hi, I was pulled over on a suspended license. I had just taken three lortabs right when I got pulled over. I made them get a warrant for my blood because he thought that I was taking something that day and I haven't since that morning had 2 lortab tens. I have an enlarged vein that goes thru the muscle of my foot which has caused inflammation in this muscle and it hurts constantly. I was told my vein size is 99 and it should be 45 but before it can be corrected I have to loose 30 lbs in order to receive this procedure. In the meantime I have to suffer with this pain. Is there any medication that can reduce the inflammation and pain? ## Dear Wendy, Sorry to hear about your situation. Concerning the combined use of penicillin, ibuprofen and hydrocodone, umm.edu's drug interaction checker doesn't list any interactions between these three medications. I'm also aware that ibuprofen and hydrocodone are available as one tablet (known as Vicoprofen), effectively ruling out interactions for those two. As to your other question re: ... ...

Additionally, at some point, if they retain this imprint, the amount of Acetaminophen will be lowered to 325mgs, due to a recent request made by the FDA, since Acetaminophen can lead to liver failure if taken in high amounts for a long period of time and overdoses of it can be toxic. Dr. Recommendation

I am new to Georgia. I live about 45 minutes south of Atlanta. My Dr. back home prescribed me Hydrocodone and/or Tramadol for menstrual pains. My menstrual pains have inconvenienced me 5 days a month for as long as I could remember until I met my Dr. back home. I don't want to waste the time or money going to a Dr. here for him to tell me to take 800mg Ibuprofen and call it a day. Any recommendations for doctors who are open minded to pain medication? ## Hi, Brooke! Sorry about the pain you've suffered. I took 7.25/325 of hydrocodone every 4-6 hrs for pain and after 9 yrs of treatment under a Doctor's care alone with spinal injections every 3 months for 9 yrs. At 45 yrs old going on 46 yrs old I will now have to get surgery it is looking like as things are much worse and only surgery can help me, but the Doctor wanted to wait as long as I could before going under the knife. My question is, if I was put on Morphine 15 what would I have to take that would even be close to what I was originally on (hydrocodone)? I mean I have been told Morphine won't help me at all and I will be in a lot of pain after surgery. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? How many 15 mg of Morphine Sulfate equal 4 of the 10 mg Hydrocodone?? ## Morphine and Hydrocodone are generally considered equal in strength, when taken orally, so a 10mg Morphine tablet would be equal to 10mgs of Hydrocodone, this your 15mg Morphine is actually a stronger dose than what you were taking of the Hydrocodone. 3 of the Morphine 15mg tablets would be 45mgs and that would actually still be 5mgs stronger than the 40mgs in 4 of the Hydrocodone tablets. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hydrocone is a short acting pain medication. This is a combination of a narcotic anagesic containing 15 mg of dihydrocodeine, 325 mg of acetaminophen (APAP) and 50 mg of caffeine. Dyhydrocodeine is about one to two times more potent as Codeine, but it is not as potent as Hydrocodone. A typical does of 30 mg of dihydrocodeine is about equal to 45-60 mg of Codeine. Duhydrocodeine is both a Schedule II controlled substance by itself and a Schedule III controlled substance when compounded with APAP or Asprin (ASA). It is rarely used in America and for reasons unbeknown; nonetheless it's low abuse potential allows it to be sold OTC in Europe as an anagesic in strengths of 7.49 mg dihydrocodeine compounded with 500 mg of APAP.
