Amneal mfg, hydrcodone- apap 5-325 doesn't work as well as V 3604 or Watson 349- why? ## Hi Jane, I think I can help answer your question here. One of the primary factors that doesn't seem to be well known to the public, is that the FDA allows active ingredients in generic meds to vary by as much as 25% from the actual listed dosage. This could potentially mean that a 5mg hydrocodone may actually turn out to be 3 to 7 mgs depending on the manufacturer. Aside from that, subtle differences in the "inactive" ingredients (binders/fillers) could also impact the absorption/overall efficacy of the medication. Put two and two together and you pretty much have a different medication than what you may be used to taking. I hope this info helps! Have you tried any of the brand-name ... ...

5mg 300mg versus 5mg 325mg of hydrocodone acetaminophen
3 Replies RSS
5/300 is 1/3 the price of 5/325 of hydrocodone acetaminophen at the pharmacy. Does the pain relief compare and is it worth the difference in price? We are talking $13 versus $38 for 25 mg difference. ## It's possible they have already raised the price with hydrocodone combinations meds becoming a Schedule II meds Oct 6, 2014. Everything from manufacturing to dispensing had to have tighter security and the cost has to be passed on to the customer. ## Hello, Debra! How are you? It really depends on how well it works for you. If you don't take this all the time, then you'll likely get adequate relief from the 5/300, though I don't show a listing for that dosage being available, so it would be best to double check with your pharmacy. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has t... ...

My child was prescribed hydrocodone-apap 7.5-500 soln in an orange liquid. Also on the main bottle with the label that says Cephalexin for Oral Suspension, USP (250 mg/5ml) 100 ml when mixed. And the pharmacy doctor put 2 of 3 in red marker on bottle. I'm confused. Is the orange liquid suppose to make it easier for him to swallow. ## To be honest, I'm a little confused by your post. You're talking about 2 different medications. The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, though the Hydrocodone can also help treat couching and the Acetaminophen can help break a fever. The Cephalexin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. The color really means nothing, but most medications of this type are given to children in liquid form, sinc... ...

my husband was givin reprexain 10-200 mg one every 6 hours but he is still hurting bad can he take 2 at a time ## Has he consulted his doctor about it? This contains Hydrocodone and Ibuprofen and the maximum dose of Hydrocodone that's usually given at oce is just the 10mgs, it is very potent narcotic, so I wouldn't suggest increasing the dosage, without a doctor's approval. ## Your husband can absolutely take 2 at a time I don't know why people are saying not to. I am 215lbs and I sometimes take 3 at once when I'm in a lot of pain. What you need to be most mindful of is how much acetiminphen he is taking per day. Keep that under 2500mg and he will be fine and feeling great! ...

which is stronger hydrocodone or oxycodone 5 325 which makes you more tired?
6 Replies RSS
my doctor switched me to Oxycod/apap 5-325 from Hydroco/apap 5-325. Which one makes you tired? ## Hello, CK! How are you? The Oxycodone is stronger, you only need 3.33mgs of it to be equivalent to each 5mgs of the Hydrocodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Percocet details here. As to which makes you more tired, I can't really answer that. Side effects are individualized, so it will really depend on you and how you react to any given medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So if I've been taking 15 mg of percocet I would need 25 mg of vicodin to get the same relief? ## I was taking oxycodone 7.325 now taking oxycodon... ...
