I have taken Hydroco/Apap for about six years for chronic pain. Sometimes the caplets are white, sometimes yellow. When they are yellow I itch badly after taking them. I don't understand why as I've been told by the Pharmacist that they are the same thing. Can you shed any light on my problem? Could it have anything to do with the color? Thank you. ## Hello, Lina! How are you doing? Yes, it could be due to the dye used for color, or some other inactive ingredient. One company has actually been removing the dye from their products, because of the number of people that suffered bad reactions to it, either by being allergic or just sensitive to it. You might want to discuss the issue with your doctor and your pharmacist, measures can likely be put in place to make sure that you onl...

How long does it take for the side effects to wear off from the initial dosage? ## The half-life of Hydrocodone is just a little under 4 hours and for it to be completely processed from your body takes between 5 to 6 half-lives, so 20 to 24 hours. Can you tell me what the pill looks like? ## Hi Kim, From what I could gather, most of the 5/325mg Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone Bitartrate tablets are white and capsule (oblong) shaped. Some of the imprints on these pills are: IP 109, M365, 3202 WATSON, and 3604 V. There may be more though. Did you have any specific questions or concerns regarding this medication? This pill make me sweat really bad, nauseated, the shakes, out of breath and cannot eatnot. Why.?( Its a white oval like pill. hydrocodone apap 7.5 - 32 tablet Auro for> NORCO 7.5-325 MG ACTA ) ## It sounds like you are allergic to something in the tablet. You need to contact your Dr and ask him to prescribe something else. ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? Those can be side effects of this narcotic, in some people that take it. Along with dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth, as listed by the FDA. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. I experience these same symptoms, if I take Codeine, so I've found it best to stay away from it. Have you consulted your doctor? As BL suggested, you'll likely need to try a different medication.

I am currently taking OXYCODONE CAP 5MG and I will soon run out of these cap. I have plenty of Hydro Apap Tab 5 325 mg tablets. Can I take these instead to use them up. Then request a prescription for the OXYCODONE CAP 5MG ## The Hydrocodone isn't quite as strong as the Oxycodone, so you might not get the same amount of relief from it, though the Acetaminophen in it may help a little, with that. To be specific, the tablet you mentioned contains 5mgs of the Hydrocodone and 325mgs of the Acetaminophen. If I'm not getting relief on 1 tab, can I take 1-12? ## Hi Essie, Hydrocodone Apap 5/325mg contains (5 mg) of Hydrocodone + (325 mg) of Acetaminophen. Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone is a combination of two types of pain medicine used to treat moderate to severe pain. The Hydrocodone (related to codeine) is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics (which act in the central nervous system [CNS] to relieve pain), while the Acetaminophen (a less potent pain reliever) is used to boost the effects of the Hydrocodone. If you're having problems with the dosage, I would speak with a doctor about increasing it instead of experimenting on your own. I have been taking norco 10/325 yellow oval pill for a few years but yesterday what I got was different they were white oblong pills which says hyd/apap 10/325 mg tab amnea on it and the numbers on the tablet are G 037. Are they the same? The norco always worked very well but these white tabs don't seem as strong or work as well. ## Yes, they are the same, the tablet with the G 037 on it has just been manufactured by a different company, in this case Tris Pharma. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. is hydroco/apap 5-325 mg stronger than BUTALBITAL, ACETAMINOPHEN, CAFFEINE, AND CODEINE tablets i have BUTALBITAL, ACETAMINOPHEN, CAFFEINE, AND CODEINE tablets for migraine headaches. I had a very bad fall and hurt my arm, shoulder and knee. they gave me hydroco/apap 5-325 mg for the pain. Which of the two is stronger for pain relief? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Codeine is actually very weak, so for that type of pain, you'll most likely be better off with the Hydrocodone that they've prescribed, it is much stronger and better able to handle the pain from an injury, such as that which occurred due to your fall. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is ...

Male 210lbs - takes whatever whenever, but is taking over a dozen hydrocodone-apap 10mg/325mg pills in 24 hours. Is that bad? What's bound to happen?...What if he takes oxycodone 15mg also? ## Hello, From what I am seeing, daily consumption of hydrocodone should not exceed 40 milligrams in patients not tolerant to opiates. The PDR from 2006 states that Norco 10, containing 10 milligrams of hydrocodone and 325 mg of APAP (Acetaminophen) can be taken at a dosage of up to twelve tablets per day (120 mg of hydrocodone). This restriction is only limited by the fact that twelve tablets, each containing 325 mg of APAP (Acetaminophen), puts the patient right below the 24-hour FDA maximum of 4,000 mg of APAP. I take methadone hcl 10 MG tab for Fibromyalgia. I have hydrocortisone Apap 7.5 325MG tab as a backup to help when the pain gets too intense. But I'm out of town and I'm out of methadone. I have hydroco. My question to you is, how many hydroco do I need to take a day to equal to the methadone. I'm take the methadone 4 times a day. ## There is really no way to compare the two and give you an equivalent dosage. It also doesn't contain Hydrocortisone, the narcotic opiate in it is Hydrocodone. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, it may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. Can I take an advil pm to help me to get back to sleep? ## Hi Norma, According the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there is a high interaction potential reported between hydrocodone and the diphenhydramine in zzzquil / advil PM, stating that combining them may increase your risk of certain side effects such as: "loss of balance or dizziness, slurred speech, feeling confused, experiencing changes in mental awareness, or slow / shallow breathing." They go on to note that if adjunctive treatment is required, your doctor may adjust the dosage and/or frequency of dosing in order to mitigate any possible risk of side effect...

I have already been experiencing constipation but is there any others anyone can share or tell me about? ## Based on my research, a few of your medications do list potentially unsafe drug interactions. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: Applies to: Bupropion + Norco (acetaminophen/hydrocodone) "Talk to your doctor before using Bupropion together with Hydrocodone.
