I am a 60 year old male with high BP. I was taking Losar 50 mg ×2 and metoprolol XL 25mg × 2 but as my BP shot up to 160/90 with heaviness in my head and neck, the doctor changed the medicines and introduced Temsan-H in the morning and metoprolol XL 25mg in the evening since the last 3 days. I am feeling better but since introduction of this medicine at times I feel slight pressure on the upper part of the chest. Is this side effects of Temsan-H and reducing the dose of metoprolol? Drug interaction Want to no if I can take these 4 potassium pills for 2 days with my other daily medications ## Hello, Mare! How are you? As long as your doctor has approved it, then yes, they can be taken together. The FDA classifies potassium as a supplement and it can cause stomach pain and nausea, so it should be taken with food. The more pressing question, I think, is if your potassium is low, why do they still have you on the Hydrochlorothiazide? It is a diuretic and well known to cause potassium loss. Stopping it and switching to a different one might easily solve the problem. You may want to ask your doctor about it. Typical side effects to it may also possibly include nausea, headache, dehydration and increased urination. ## in the morning I take Glimepiride 2 mg, Amlodipine-be...

I take Lisinopril -HCTZ-20-12.5 mg twice a day. I noticed on my refill bottle It says Lisinopril 20 mg twice a day. Is that the same or should they be cut in half two times a day or should I call the doctor. Will this cause my heart rate to be higher and blood pressure to higher?. Thank You ## Did your doctor change your prescription? The original contained Lisinopril with Hydrochlorothiazide, while the new one, according to what you've listed, only contains the Lisinopril. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. It is always best to take the one your doctor has directed you to take. Is there a chance your pharmacy made an error?

I enjoy a drink nightly. Will this prevent the pill from doing its job with my blood pressure? (mixed drinks or amaretto). ## Generally, you are warned not to take most medications with alcohol due to the possibility of it aggravating the side effects, such as the nausea and dizziness, because that can result in one drink actually affecting you like you had 2 and so on. Learn more Prinzide details here. With this combination, however, there are some additional concerns, if you are limiting yourself to just one or two drinks, it can actually cause some lowering of your blood pressure, as well, so you have to be careful to watch for signs of that, such as feeling severely dizzy, especially when moving or standing up. The Hydrochlorothiazide is also a diuretic that removes excess fluid fro...

I was prescribed 10mg lisinopril for 30 days and I did respond well so my doc said she would continue the lisinopril for 3 months. When I picked up new prescription, I noticed the pills were blue, not pink, and they were 10-12mg. I am afraid to take these as I don't want to have an adverse reaction ## Hello, Shelly! How are you? I'd advise going back to your pharmacy to double check, I think they might have made an error. The ones that list 2 dosages like that are usually combination medications, so this one would most likely contain Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide, so it could lower your blood pressure too much, or cause dehydration, since the Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic. The FDA lists possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination ...

How are you doing? Yes, it should be if your doctor says so. If you were allergic to it, you'd likely have already discovered that. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. A higher dosage may cause you to experience these more intensely.
