I have a small round pill with the letter m on it that's purported to be Hydroxipam. Has anyone been able to find information on this drug? ## From what I could gather, Hydroxipam is simply a trade name for Hydroxyzine Pamoate; which according to MedlinePlus is in a class of medications called antihistamines, and is used to relieve itching caused by allergic skin reactions, as well as anxiety and tension. The medication itself reportedly works by blocking the action of histamine (a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms). It also works by decreasing activity in the brain. Molar extracted today. Allergic to codeine so prescribed this instead. Woke up in middle of night now by intense itching and tiny hives from head to toe. Even itches inside ears and rims of eyes. Should I be worried about it? Obviously will immediately discontinue use. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? I'm very sorry about the allergic reaction. You should have this checked out, to be sure. But it does sound like you're having an allergic reaction to this medication. And please discontinue it, such reactions tend to get worse with repeated exposure to the allergen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is it safe to take a prescription dated 8/2013? ## Hello, Dolly! How are you? It doesn't get dangerous once it's expired, but it does begin to lose effectiveness, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new. Medications tend to degrade over time. Thus, it would be best to dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription, if you still need to take it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antihistamine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and somnolence. Is there anything else I can help with?

what is the shelf life from date of purchase. ## U.S. prescription medications must have a mandatory expiration date of 1 year from the date the prescription is filled. After a year, they start to lose potency and can no longer be as effective, there are also a few medications that can turn into dangerous substances after they expire. I am just trying to find out how much ten of these tablets will cost me to get filled but no one will post the price they post everything but freakin pain pills! ## Hi, they will cost less than a dollar each. Go to walmart the prices are better, more like .50 each. ## Sorry you had such a frustrating experience. The reason most places don't list prices for any controlled substance is due to the risk of theft, they don't actually want to put it out there and have people know whether or not they carry them. However, from what I'm finding, the current price for the 5/325 tablets runs about 60cents each on average, of course that will vary from area to area, but you should be looking for a pretty cheap price if you're just getting 10 of them. I will be on vacation for 5 days and my prescription for loratab will b.due while there I.have the written prescription on hand from doctor in Tennessee, will I be able to.get.filled at.Walgreen ## Most pharmacies won't fill out of state prescriptions. The best thing to do is, if you're a current Walgreens customer, go in and check with them before you leave. They'll be able to let you know. No it's not a narco or a controlled drug. It's a skeletal muscle rexalant similar to soma. Soma tends to work the best, these both can relax your mood. There's also flexeril and zanaflex but they don't work as well as the other two. ## Hello, Casper! How are you? Thank you for the identification. To add some specifics, this tablet is manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 500mgs of the muscle relaxant Chlorzoxazone. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Does anyone have any questions or concerns?

Is hydrocod /apap 5/325 a drug that is addictive? I'm taking it for pain associated with MS. ## Yes, Hydrocodone is highly addictive; as are all opiate medications that I know of. People who take Vicodin/Norco 'usually' tend to feel a rush of euphoria and relaxation, and any physical pain begins to decrease. Over time, users can develop a tolerance for the drug, and they will eventually require more and more to achieve those same results. From what I've heard, many people who 'abuse' this medication consume anywhere from 20 to 30 pills each day, and sometimes even more. If you or a loved one are struggling with Hydrocodone abuse or addiction, I'd strongly suggest talking to your doctor about setting up a tapering schedule or opt for seeing a drug abuse counse...

My friend gave me a ten pack of what he said are 10/500 hydros. They are yellow no impront, but a score in the middle on one side. Back of pack says 10/500 mallinckrodt but ive never seen um like this. He wouldnt say where they came from so anyone got a take on this. ## In my (past) experience they are from india or some other foreign maker. Most likely they are fake. They coul possibly be real but either way they probably cost A LOT OF MONEY and are trash. God only knows what they fill those things with. Good luck with them. ## Mallinckrodt is a well known pharmaceutical manufacturer, but I have to agree with the other person that posted that these tablets are highly suspect. My reasoning for this is due to the fact that Mallinckrodt uses their M logo on all of their prescription produc...

I want to know if it is safe to split this in half? It has the line down the center for separation but I want to be sure. Thanks!!! To be more specific it's a ten mg. ## Yes, it isn't time released, so it can be split in half, according to the NIH. Is it, in fact, 10/325??? ## i ran out of mu usuall watson big like oval bklue tens and i got this through a buddy.. is it in fact the same thing?? i dont want to take it if not ## Yes, this tablet is Hydrocodone 10mgs and Acetaminophen 325mgs. However, if you are running out early, then apparently your pain is not in control and rather than getting meds illegally from someone else, you should see your doctor to see what you can do to better treat your condition. ## I too have always taken the blue pill which is lortab 10/500..and recently I had to go to a different pharmacy and they gave me a white tablet..and it say M363 on one side the other is plain..they said it is the same as the ...

So I have been taking hydrocodone apap 5-325 for about ten days and have had a non stop headaches almost the whole time...I take only three to four a day. Just wondering if this could be from dehydration, or the acetaminophen in them or are headaches just a common side effect. I've also heard something about a cold water extraction to remove the apap in them but don't know if that's necessary due to the lower dosage of apap I'm actually taking.(roughly 1400 mgs a day). The pills help with my back pain but this headache is getting frustrating...any ideas? ## Hi Jake, Did your headaches just start when you first began taking the medication, or did you frequently have them prior to taking it? Some common side effects of Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen include: Blurred vision; c...
