I've been prescribed oxycodone 30mg for almost a year now due to back and knee injuries and it has become impossible to fill my prescriptions here in the state of Florida its been impossible to fill any pain meds for that matter. What is the deal and what can I do? ## I really wish I had some type of answer for you, but unfortunately, I don't. There have been many complaints recently from people in Florida that have been having problems getting narcotic prescriptions filled. However, I haven't been able to find anything that actually explains it. I know they were trying to crackdown on the 'pill mill' problem, so that may be what's caused the issue, by making pharmacies afraid to fill them. Have any of the pharmacies given you a reason for not filling them? ## Im... ...

How much oxycodone 5mg can I take per day before it affects the Kidneys ## Hello, Charles! How are you? How many have been prescribed each day? You should make certain that you don't exceed that amount. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. There is no set amount that you can take, before it may affect the kidneys, liver, or other organs. That can vary from person to person and depends on your overall health, pre-existing renal issues and etc. ...

I was diagnosed 5 years ago with DDS and at first by back pain was minimal. After a year or so it began to get bad enough for me to see the Dr. every 3 months or so for a prescription of Oxycodone and 800mg Ibuprofen. I have since moved and my Dr I have now told me flat out he would not give me "narcotics". Why do Dr's treat us this way. I have medical records showing my valid medical issue. If anyone can recommend a pain friendly Dr who will not make me feel embarrassed to ask for help, please email me. I live in Avondale AZ ## Have you considered a pain management specialist? That would probably be your best bet to get the help you need, since many general practitioners aren't specially trained in treating pain and are reluctant to prescribe for it. One place you can c... ...

What drug should I try because the oxycodone is making me sick? ## Hi Cartel, Sorry to hear about your Oxycodone intolerance. There are a variety of pain medications on the market that you could ask your doctor about trying instead of Oxycodone. However it's important to understand that there's really no way of knowing ahead of time how something else might end up affecting you as well, until you give it a shot and see how you like it. Depending on what your doctor recommends, some other options may include medications like Hydrocodone/Apap, Morphine sulfate, or Hydromorphone. Do you think the sick feeling could be because of a problem with the dosage being too high or perhaps just a side effect of the drug itself? ...

i would like to see how the pills look to make sure im getting the right medication ## Since there are different formulations of Oxycodone available, the time released, the immediate release and the regular release, the last two of which are also available as generics, I cannot possibly list descriptions and markings for all the tablets on the market. Oxycodone is also available combined with Acetaminophen in several products, such as the brand names Percocet, Roxicet or Endocet and this is also available as generics. What are the markings on the ones you have? That is what enables us to identify them for you. I can tell you that if you are on the time released formulation, Oxycontin, they are very easy to identify, since they are only available in the name brand, which is manufactured ... ...

i had been taking 10 mg 325, for back pain and left shoulder pain; I have had hardware placed in the back and a ball installed in the left shoulder; they switched me to 15 mg of oxy and it has been hell; tired muscles, huge drymouth, extreme fatigue and a feeling of not wanting to do anything but sleep ## Hello, Richard! How are you? I'm sorry about the way you're feeling. But yes, as listed by the FDA, those are normal side effects for this medication. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, things should improve, after a few weeks, once your body gets used to the medication. If they don't, then you should speak to your doctor. Is there a... ...

what dose it look like ## My husband has been prescribed oxycodone 5 mg. and oxycodone 15 mg. 4 times daily. When I took his prescription to be filled yesterday I was told that the government was not letting any of them go out right now (the 5 mg, that is). I got the 15 mg. What's going on? ## I know the generic manufacturer Ethex has issued a voluntary recall due to quality control concerns, however, I haven't heard of anything recalled by the government. It is possible that your pharmacy carried the ones made by Ethex and don't have any in stock right now, since they had to pull them from the shelves. I suggest calling other pharmacies in your area to find out if anyone else has it in stock, since there are other companies that make it. Has anyone else heard anything about... ...

These suck they do not work extra headache from this pill brand. I DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH MALINDRODK BRAND BUT YOURS SUCK ## @jojo, Sorry to hear about your troubling experience with KVK Tech. According to a number of threads I’ve seen here on this site, KVK Tech is being widely regarded as one those Oxycodone manufacturers that people should steer clear of, since their tablets aren’t providing anywhere near the amount of relief as other brands/generics. However, if Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals is what works best for you, I would just encourage you to ask your doctor to specifically write that down on your prescription, based on it’s proven track record to help manage your level of pain. I’m not sure if this will make your experience with trying to fill the ... ...

Where can I fill my Florida prescription of 30mg oxycodone in Boston MA? ## I am sorry to say it, but I don't think you're in for an easy task. Due to the difficulties that may be involved with conforming the legitimacy of the prescription and tracking it, most pharmacies will not fill out of state prescriptions. In many areas, they won't even fill them from outside of the county, or immediate area. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Does anyone have any suggestions to make? ## I'm trying to think of more ideas to help you. Is it possible for you to see a local doctor there? Another alternative would be to go to a local ER, where they have to help you if you are in pain/withdrawals. They might at least give you enough of a prescription to get you through until you get ho... ...

if, for one moment your belief is that KVK is of poor quality- AVOID 10 MG ZYD Oxycodone AT ALL COSTS. What I have figured out at this point.. is that if you have deep pockets- I mean deep pockets like in Industry (acting/movie) deep(you can afford the real stuff- the good, unadulterated- prooer filler Rx), the s*** we have to put up with is forever changing, getting cheaper and less effective all the time- "to keep the costs down for you, the consumer".. BULL S***! - makes the Pharmacy more $$$$ and because we cannot afford the real thing. The FDA has been cut back so far, not only do they not really care, but they are understaffed and concerning themselves with white paint as an additive in creamer taking precedence over a few dissatisfied junkies (no insult intended).. how dangerous is oxycodone?
2 Replies RSS
How dangerous is oxycodone really? I've heard so many stories about peoples' hearts exploding. Can oxys really cause that? Or is it only when you mix it ## Oxycodone is a powerful narcotic pain killer. Basically anybody who takes it has to be really responsible about their dosage. There have been many accidental overdoses, especially when taken with alcohol. Actually mixing this with alcohol is a deadly combination. I don't know about the heart exploding, but an overdose can make the body so relaxed that the diaphram stops breathing, and then the heart stops too. ## The heart exploding is an exaggeration, mainly due to people misunderstanding heart failure, which can occur as a result of drug overdose. There are really no conditions that cause the heart to actually explode, ... ...

orange ## Sorry, you have not provided enough information. This drug is available in both name brand and generic versions. There are many generic manufacturers and each one of them will make a pill that looks different. There are no rules saying that pills with the same ingredient have to look the same! The size, color, shape and imprint will all vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. The only relevant regulations from the FDA state that they must have unique imprints for identification purposes, but these will even differ by manufacturer and strength of the med. In order to identify your pill for you and tell you what it is, you need to provide the complete imprint from the pill, all letters, numbers and/or symbols that may be on it, as well as the color and shape. I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but down below are a couple links that may be of service to you in your search for pain management doctors within your general area. Also, when seeing a new doctor just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. I filled my Rx at a different pharmacy to save time and received this version of Percocet a333. It's terrible! The regular ones I receive (by a completely different manufacturer than this or Watson) work pretty well. My issue is just worsening so They just aren't effective. Then when I opened this bottle, noticed the texture was different. It was early morning and dark so I took my normal 1/2 so I can go back to sleep. Felt no relief like I normally feel enough to sleep comfortably. Had to double check to make sure I didn't put Tylenol in one of the bottles for travel. Took the other half. Feels as weak as Tylenol in regards to my level of relief (almost none). Took my next full dose at when enough time had passed. Still, very little relief. This isn't the first time this w ...
