I am forced off morphine as drug panels allowed doctors to force legitimate pain patients off meds with no legal protections for patients. The pain associations that promoted drug evaluations, did not advocate that patients be withheld pain meds, unless they had aberrant behavior more than 2 times. Veterans killed themselves because of a intolerant policy that forced them into withdrawal. Many were forced into withdrawal then given drug panels, and many could not receive treatment for their disabling pain. How many milligrams are released per hour in a 30mg morphine ER pill? ## Hi Nickie, I don't know if this will suffice as an exact answer to your question, but one manufacturer of Morphine ER (Endo Pharma) has an article stating that after 1.5 hours following administration of Morphine ER, 50% of it is absorbed. Based on this info alone, I would anticipate 10mgs out of 30mgs being released/absorbed within an hour's time. After that point however, I'm not sure what its release rate would look like over a period of 12 hours. If you've been taking it for a long time, you may have suffered some stomach damage that's causing it. There can be slight variations in generics, so you might be getting more of the medication than you were used to getting. Say I take 3 30mg oxycodone, how many 30mg instant morphine would I need? ## Oxycodone is one and half times stronger than Morphine, so for each 30mg Oxycodone, you'd need 45mgs of Morphine, or for 90mgs, you'd need 135mgs of Morphine. Both are narcotics, so you should make sure that you aren't taking more than your doctor has prescribed, because they can cause depression of the central nervous system, as well as respiratory depression. However, if they take it regularly and are used to high doses and have gradually built up to that, then no, their bodies can tolerate it. I find it ridiculous that sooo many people are messing around with schedule II narcotics yet have no clue to the potency, side effects, drug interactions, etc.. are you people not adults? Oxy is indeed a good 1.5% stronger than morphine and not at all subtle like morphine.. Most doses of Oxy that are between 15-30 mg are IR's not ER (extended release like most morphine)... I take morphine 60 mg 2 at a time it has a m on one side 60 on other. I know it's extended release but how much do u get at a time and how long does it last? Is 5 to 6 (30 mg) Oxycodone pills what your doctor prescribed to you? I'm not exactly sure how many grams of Oxycodone will equal 2 (60 mg) Morphine pills, however I do know that Oxycodone is 1.5 times stronger than Morphine.
