I stopped taking Xifaxan. How long until the bloating goes away? ## Xifaxan is an antibiotic, and its other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. It may take a week, or two for the gas/bloating to fully go away, depending on how long you were taking it. Are you on any other medications? ## You might try taking probiotic capsules such as Florastor since that brand is able to survive the onslaught of antibiotics on your system. It's important to keep the "good" flora in your digestive system and could help to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.

I have been on Viibryd 40 mg almost since the first day it came out and was one of the lab rats when it was in clinical trials. I loved it because it made me feel normal. I have noticed though for about 18 months I have issues with leg swelling, water retention and significant abdominal bloat that won't go away. I am going to try going down to 20 mg. Any one else have these issues? Did they get better with a reduced dose? I hate to go off because I feel awake and not experiencing almost nonfunctional exhaustion with terrible allergies and weird aches and pains I have without it. I take 90 to 120 mgs of morphine daily for pain control (30mg tablets). I have maintained this dose consistently (2+ Years). I've taken magnesium citrate as a laxative in the past-10 oz per dose (1.75 per fl oz) as needed. It usually does the job. Brand name is Citroma by Swan. I have a back problem and am taking pain meds that constipated me. Filling up until impaction and then blasting it out with potassium citrate, etc. Under the Doctor's guidance I reduced the pain meds and started Linzess. I did a clean out and then started the Linzess 3 days ago. So far nothing, no BM. I am on the 145 dosage. How long does it take this medication to work? Then you need to wait one hour following the meal for the drug to work best. If you eat before taking this medicine you need wait two hours to take it.
