My age is 48 and my blood pressure remains at 150 past one year I am on telmisartan and amlodipine combined with bisoprolol 5mg. Suggest how to lower my blood pressure ## Hello, Krishna! How are you? What types of foods do you eat? If they are heavily salted and very fatty, that will play a role in causing your blood pressure to be high. It can also be affected by someone's being overweight and being sedentary. So, if you're carrying a few extra pounds, you should work on losing them, preferable via proper diet and exercise, since those both also play a role in lowering it. And have you talked to your doctor? These just might not be the right medications for you to take, you may need to try something else. ## Since last one year my bp is 150/75. I'm a female, age 81, and for a few days my blood pressure got high (200/120). What can I do about this immediately? ## Those numbers can be very dangerous, you could suffer a heart attack or stroke, according to the NIH. You need to see a doctor immediately, so they can evaluate you and prescribe an appropriate medication, if they feel one, or more, are necessary. Are you currently taking any medications regularly? Is it immediately after activity? After you're eating? And how close together in time are you checking it? As reported by the NIH, all of these factors can affect your readings, at any given time. I took 125 mg of meteripol for my blood pressure ## Hello, Hercules! How are you? Yes, you can overdose if you take too much of any medication. When it's a blood pressure/cardiac medication like this one, it could cause your blood pressure and heart rate to go too low, which may cause dizziness, fainting and possibly death, as listed by the FDA and NIH. How much are you supposed to take? You should be aware that for this to help your blood pressure, you need to take it regularly for a month, taking extra when you have higher blood pressure numbers won't actually do anything to help.
